Any opinons on Fulton's at DTD? BF and I are looking for a nice place to have dinner when were there exploring.

We went to Fultons in July. The food is excellent but very expensive and I wasn't impressed with the atmosphere. While we enjoyed the meal we wouldn't go back. ::MickeyMo

Fulton's is just one of those restaurants that posters "love it or hate it".

Living on the New England seacoast has spoiled our family w. fresh seafood. So Fulton's did nothing for us. But it wasn't just the quality of the food, there was more.

The restaurant itself was dirty. When turning over tables crumbs and table scraps were wiped off by a busperson and rather than letting them fall into a napkin and dispose -- they were wiped onto the floor. The floor was never cleaned up for the new diners.

The servers rude! At the end of the meal our CM told us that is was custom to tip 20% or more at Fulton's while placing the bill on our table.

The prices are outrageous for the quality/freshness of the food.

I agree that Fulton's is pretty-pricey for dinner and the crowds can get a little crazy.

However.....the atmosphere is really nice and they do have some great selections. So.....now our new routine includes Fulton's for lunch one day - it is much less expensive and provides the great view over the water in the daylight. We have done this the last two trips and it was a very nice experience.

I have always had great experiences at Fulton's We make it a must do every trip. It could be as others mentioned that b/c I live in NY I am accustomed to paying good $ for good seafood. And to me the food at Fulton's is excellent. Especially the lobster bisque and the crab and lobster meal for two. I found the service to be a little slow, but yet all were friendly. And I'm usually not in a rush for dinner anyway. I have never known it to be dirty, I actually enjoy the atmosphere a lot. So I guess it is a hit or miss type place. But I will continue to be a faithful follower.

DH and I really enjoy Fulton's. The food is good (yes, a little pricey) and our service has always been very good too.

I love Fultons's. I've never had a bad experience there. I've never had a rude waiter or saw anything that would make me think the restaurant was dirty.

Its a bit pricey, but not any more expensive than any other good seafood restaurant, Disney or not.

Their calamari is excellent, and as someone else mentioned, the crab and lobster for 2 is great also.

We ate lunch at Fulton's on 9/6, Labor Day. We walked right in at 1:00. My DH & I both had the Seafood Combination Platter which tasted fresh. I shared w/ my DS and he liked it too. I did not like the atmosphere and thought it looked ratty and dirty. We sat upstairs and the windows were filthy. (I know they just experieced a hurrricane) The rugs looked tired and old and the decor looked aged. The rooms were very dark. I had a good meal but not good enough that I would return. There are much nicer places in DTD to eat at. Skip this one.

We have eaten there three different times, twice for dinner and once for lunch.

Each time the service was fine and the food was excellent.

I did perfer dining there for lunch since it was less crowded and the views are very nice.

I have read lots of reviews where people say they don't like it for various reasons, but we have always been happy.

There are several other good places in DTD also. We had an excellent dinner at Captain Jack's in March.

We wouldn't return. We all thought it was waaaaay too expensive for the food. The service was good, but it was not a quality experience. We really enjoy Portobello Yacht Club. You might want to try it.

Always have to answer a direct question--
Fulton's has what is argueably the WORST service of any restaurant at WDW.
Our 4 dinners there were blessed with condescending, indifferent staff--from the greeters at the podium, thru the servers, down even to the people clearing the tables.
Doubt I'd ever eat there again, even if someone else paid!!

Should add that the food is pretty good (tho the menu is far less extensive than it was when the restaurant first opened) and I've never found the place looking dirty. And our last trip there they did have Amber Bock (tho not on draft).

Have to agree that Fulton's seems to be a love or hate kind of place. For us it is love. We never miss it. On one occassion we had indifferent service, but not rude. Never saw it dirty or dingy. This is one of those places you probably need to try for yourself. If you decide to try it, go with the idea that this meal is going to cost you more than most resturants at WDW. At least the bill won't be a surprise then.

I was not impressed with this restaurant. I am from Maryland and I love seafood. I found it very odd that a seafood bisque soup did not have any seafood in it. The food was not bad but not great for the amount of money it cost.

Fulton is an "I'll never go back there again" restaurant for us. Horrid service, medicre food and very high prices. I don't mind paying the piper if the piper does it right.

I had a great meal there last summer. We had a wonderful and helpful waiter, beautiful waterview, and short wait.

BUT

We had a gift certificate that footed the entire bill, so I think I might have thought differently if I had paid for it since it is pretty pricey even for Disney.

If you have a car, remember that there are ALOT of great quality upper class restaurants in Orlando besides the ones at DTD (which aren't Disney owned anyways)... so if you are looking to explore, you could check out some of those that are guaranteed great experiences and service, since they aren't "tourist traps" like those at DTD. Prices are much better, too. We have eaten at some excellent places in Orlando. Just a thought ;)

Good luck!

I think that the food is good there, BUT, we had a kinda interesting experience with a server while we were there, it was just my DH and I, seated next to a big table of 8........they were very loud and ordering lots of alcohol and even ordered king crab for their entree...... well we had the same server and we were basically ignored...... all the time we were there, he made sure to give them good service, but not to us......he definitely was only interested in the tip, and not interested in spreading magic.......

Just got back yesterday, we ate there last week and were not impressed at all. Over priced for the quality of the food. My DH order the lobster bisque and he said the taste was not good at all, also they added the lobster at the table and it was cold. They must use a general base and just add the fish for the type of bisque you order. His dinner was just okay. I had the chicken which was okay but not worth the price. Also I had a over priced salad for $5. that barely covered the plate.

Mr. FFerret's wonderful aunt and uncle invited us to dinner at Fulton's this time last year.

It was OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!
Had the HUGE crab claws (king crab?)
Service was excellent as well; all in all a wonderful meal.

Thank you so much, Skip and Judy !!!!!!!

i went there w/ my DH and another couple in January before we went to Cirque and we all had a great time and loved the food!

As far as the atmosphere goes, if you are looking for a more romantic dinner, you need to ask for the second floor in the front of the boat in the room with the stars on the ceiling. I can't remember what the name of it was, but that was by far the nicest! All of the rooms have a specific theme some look like fish markets or kitchens.

If you ask for the room with the blue ceiling and stars, you wont be dissapointed as far as atmosphere goes! It also has a beautiful veiw of the water.
