Any opinons of Thrifty?

We found an awesome rate for our week long stay in December using a code from Mousesavers for Thrifty. I have searched the boards and haven't found many posts about them. What have your experiences been with them? Good? Bad? Ugly?

We have used Thrifty two or three times when we couldn't get anything via Priceline. Their shuttles are very prompt...each time, they were waiting right at the airport. The cars were decent, too. The only thing I didn't like was one of the agents being very pushy on insurance (he started his spiel, I asked him to skip it because I didn't want it, and he got really rude), but that can happen at any car rental agency. I joined Blue Chip so I can avoid that next time I rent with them.

We have used Thrifty (not in Orlando however) a few times in the past and have had no problems with them at all. As a matter of fact I just booked a car through them for Orlando for next month because they gave me the best price.
So to answer your question about experience with them? My answer is Good. Go for it!

I did a quick search on Thrifty and came up with 3 locations:

1. MCO (Orlando International Airport; need to take shuttle because it's an offsite location)

2. 2900 Parkway Blvd Kissimmee,FL

3. 10100 International Drive Orlando,FL

I have not personally used them, but they got me the best rate, compared to everyone else, even with multiple different codes. I ended up getting a economy for 12 days for $209 (includes all taxes and charges) using the WMRT code. Most companies wanted to charge me that just for the base week (not the full 12 days).
Can't complain, and have read several good things about them on this site.

they are in the same general location as Hertz

approximately 3miles from main terminal.....but there is construction going on in the area so it might take a lil longer than usual to get there

We are using Thrifty @ the Tampa Airport next month. We got base rate of $79 for the week with an economy car.

Has anyone used Thrifty inside the Tampa Airport? How was the customer service?

We have an economy car for 2 adults and 1 child (age 7). I am hoping this will be a big enough vehicle to get us to Orlando. Any experiences on the size of an economy car? We will use the bus system while on property. We needed a car to get to Orlando and a grocery stop. I am hoping the car will not be too small.

They are right outside the North Exit of the airport, near 528.

We used them last year and it was terrible. We tried to park the car by the Boardwalk for the dinner as soon as we arrived, but the key was stuck in the ignition. So we had to drive back to the Thrify by the airport and get another car. Custumer service weren't very nice about it either. By the time we finished this, it was 9:00 , we were all very aggraveted and the kids were very hungry and cranky. Not a good way to start the vacation.

Be sure and sign up for their Blue Chip Membership..It's free and will save you alot of time at the counter.
I've used Thrifty a few times and this past June had to be the worst customer service I've ever encountered. The man at the 'Blue Chip' counter did not want to wait on us even though the other girl was busy...They cancelled our reservation without even notifying us...They tried to charge our car rental BEFORE we even got there and it did not go thru so they cancelled our ressies! What? No rental car company EVER puts thru a charge for your rental until you get there or you are a no show. Unbeleivable! They sent us a $25.00 voucher good towards any Thrifty rental,any time or place for our inconvenience.
Not great but we are going to be able to use it...
