I've read a lot of good reviews about GFC, but it was just "ok" to us. Beautiful setting, good service too but the food was kinda bland. Kids all wanted the "dirt cup" dessert but it tasted so bad they wouldn't eat it. You can always get an adr at GFC. Not for us, but others like it.

We had dinner there last week and thought it was great! I wouldn't hesitate to eat there again:thumbsup2

I never ate there, but the menu for both breakfast and dinner look great! I tried like heck to get a ressie but we have a big party and they just couldn't fit us!

We have dined there twice for lunch...leaving the MK to do so and then returning to the park. The lunch was good, but we decided it was not worth the travel time to leave and return to the MK. Last May I had some sort of salad and a glass of white wine. I was happy with both. One of my sons got some sort of burger with lobster on it I think, and really liked it. The service was good both times and it is a very pretty restaurant.

I have never had breakfast or dinner there, so I can't comment on those.

A restaurant review on a recent DIS podcast gave it a thumbs down.

My family loves GFC! We ate there once for lunch (leaving MK during rush hour) and once for dinner for my birthday (on two separate trips). Both times we had phenomenal food with excellent service. During my birthday, our CM went above and beyond to make it so special. I would definitely recommend going, especially if you're on the DDP.:goodvibes Good luck and have a fun trip!!

If you go for dinner, I would avoid the steak. Some friends of ours warned us that theirs were not good in February, but we decided to make up our own minds in May. There were nine of us--eight ordering steaks--the server recommended the strip steak so seven of us ordered the strip and my dad ordered the ribeye against the server's advice. Server told him it's fatty--well, he loves fat. He was the only one who liked his steak (actually, he said it was "alright")--but it was fatty and the rest of us would have hated it. We were not on a dining plan and paid for these OOP. It was very disappointing!

A year and a half before that we had a nice meal at GFC. I think a lot of us ordered salmon...

I do like their salad with cashews. The bread is unremarkable. I took one bite and didn't feel it was worth taking up room in my stomach.;)

The desserts are just ok, IMO.

We really liked our dinner at GFC last April. We had steaks and they were very good. We were also impressed with the service....it was the BEST we had the whole week.

On a side note, my DH gave the bathroom a big thumbs up too..hehe...

Here's what the girls had for lunch at GFC after visiting the GFSpa. I believe a picture is worth a thousand words. Enough said!!

We've had lunch there a few times. I would call it above average but nothing special. Good burgers as I recall. Excellent gin & tonics. ;)

The lunch is fantastic, the Grand Sandwich and the Grand Floridian Burger are worth a trip.

I have eaten there for all three meals, and I find lunch the best.

My DH had the Grand Sanwich a couple of weeks ago for lunch and decided it was his new favorite for lunch on property. I had the salmon salad that was quite good and we got the dessert sampler and that was excellent.

DH and I ate there on our last day. He had the Reuben and I had the grilled chicken sandwich. They were delicous. Our server was great. Perfect last meal.

I go there for breakfast every trip since the Concourse Steakhouse closed. They have excellent Eggs Benedict.

I enjoyed the Roast Beef Sandwich they have at lunch. :)
I ended up splitting it with my mommy and we ordered both the cucumber salad and homemade chips (you just pick one on the menu).
It made for a really filling light lunch!

OT- How did you like the Garden Cottage? We stayed there a couple of years ago.

Average to above average from my experience. I'd recommend it for lunch, but usually would pick Kona Cafe over it. For dinner, I'd pick Citricos over it any time - well worth any difference in price if you can afford it.
