Any opinions on the banana boat excursion at Lookout Cay?

I know the boats may drive a bit slower then private tours but has anyone done it at Lookout? Where is it on the island, how are the views, and is it worth doing in your opinion? I noticed it's an hour at Lookout vs 30 minutes at Castaway.

Our family of seven rode the banana boat excursion at LC in August. It takes off from the base of the (infamous and long) pier, and at one point it powers reasonably close to the ship. It was more than fast enough. Two of the adults and one child fell off on sharp turns, even though the seas were only slightly choppy. The views are mostly of things you can see from the ship and the pier (although the water color/clarity is amazing.) Worth doing but hold on tight (and lean into the boat!)

Edited to add: I think that ours was roughly 30 minutes, which is what I see advertised for excursion LPT08. That was plenty.

Thanks for your post! You are right, on the booking page it says 30 and after it's booked it says 1hr. I assume the 30 minutes is the right length... Was it time consuming get get to the beach and get settled and then back to the pier for the ride?

We rented a family cabana for the day, which turned out to be very convenient to the pier/banana boat excursion. It would have been a huge hassle to take the tram from the pier to the other side of the island (where almost everything except the family cabanas are located) and then to take the tram back to the pier for the banana boat. We did the banana boat shortly after we went ashore (after just enough time to leave our gear in the cabana and check things out.)

Sorry I didn't notice. I've read that there are no lockers, but you could probably leave a duffel bag near the smaller dock from which the banana boat operates.
