Any Opinions on Saratoga Springs?

i am trying to decide b/w only a few options for our visit in a couple weeks. please help! thanks!
ss entire 5 nights
first 3 nights at CR or CS
last 2 nights at one of these options:GF, BC,POR,FWL,BW
what do you think?
how hard is it to change hotels mid stay?
how best to book it with passes and meal plan?

Any advice on how to get upgraded (Sharonz)? That would be GREAT!

We got upgraded last year. It was our 10th ann. I ordered a basket from Betsy. When I arrived , we were told we were the family of the day. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom and given balloons with the basket . My son still has the certificate on his wall.

Every year when we do our trip "post mortem" and look at the trip diary, the one common thread we see (if we've changed rooms) is the comment "WE WILL NEVER SWITCH HOTELS AGAIN!"

Every few years, we forget, and we switch hotels in mid trip to save on points.

It's something to avoid if at all possible. Switching hotels is just like taking 1/2 to 3/4 day out of your vacation - even though Disney makes it insanely easy.

I love all Disney resorts, and we are DVC members, but I have to say I hated SSR. But just about anyone that is "stuck" out in Carousel says that. The resort is way too big for our liking. But if you like that, you'll be fine. It was very pretty, but where we were felt like miles away from anything convenient. So if you can, refuse Carousel!!

You will love the walkway and easy access to DTD. It's awesome. This resort
is fantastic. Have a wonderful stay.

I've been to DW multiple times, have only been upgraded once, at BW from a standard room to water view. We really enjoyed it, but I would never count on one. That's why it's pixie dust!

would go CR then BC - so you get 2 different areas in nice hotels.

It is not hard to change hotels. You tell bell services that you are changing and the hotel you are going too. then you go to the parks - that evening or afternoon - you check in ( generally do this before I go to the parks)

now if you are doing the meal plan - forget about changing resorts. - at each resort you would have to buy new tickets - that will get expensive fast!@!!!

so just stick with SSR if you are doing the meal plan.
