We're staying there in May and I was looking for some first hand info. Good or Bad let me know what you thought.
Thanks

Do a search on Imperial palms and Royal palms which are also located next to the world resort. We stayed at Imperial palms a few years ago and used to ride the shuttle to pick up guests staying at Sabal. The resorts are great but the whole "share facilities with the world resort" process is a pain. See my post in a recent thread about Royal palms.

As you can see from my sig, I have stayed here a few times.

Sabal was one of the first "time shares" back in the early 80's when Disney started to explode. But this is not to say it is old.

Being a new idea of a time share, you will see this is a little different. Only 2 story buildings versus the 5 and 6 story you see in newer construction. Marriott didn't realize the cash cow the had.

I have been several times since 1993, and it seems there are major renovations every 5 years or so. And Marriott is no Motel 6. they dont skimp on upkeep and let properties fall into disrepair. In fact since 1993, the world center has had 4 or 5 major expantions.

The main living area is a suncken floor, with seperate master and second bedrooms. Many have 3 bedrooms. Screened in porch.

The walk to the main pool is 5-10 mins.

You cant go wrong with Sabal.

We're at Imperial Palms and our unit is beautiful. All new cabinets, granite countertops in the kitchen and new black appliances with solid surface range. The grounds are lush and very pretty. Top walk to the World Center is about 12 minutes from Imperial, and Sabal is even closer. I'm going to take a walk over to Sabal tomorrow and look that section over.

We usually stay at Marriott Cypress Harbour or Horizons, but I'd come back to Imperial Palms in a heart beat. Marriott keeps up with their properties.

Are you visiting the World? We found it a pain to either wait for the shuttle or dodge cars trying to get up there from Imperial palms. Dragging all our stuff wasn't fun either but what I disliked most was "mixing it up" with the business travelers. When you go to Horizons or Cypress Harbor everyone is a family and on vacation. At the world they have a convention center with many business travelers. Sitting in the lobby waiting for the shuttle or the food court with my bathing suit on and my 8 year old in tow with other guests fully decked out in suits right next to me just didn't work. I'd do Horizons or Cypress harbor any day over Sabal/Imperial/Royal.
