We, myself, my 3 children and my parents are going to WDW in September. I am treating them to their trip for all they have done helping me with the kids. However in leui of birthday and mother/father day dinners and cards etc... I told them I wanted to surprise them at WDW. I already made one change, I changed our resort from AS Sports to POFQ, would love to move to BC, but an additional $3500 for 2 rooms, nah, I love POFQ and they have never stayed there. So any way I was hoping to book the Illuminations cruise for all of us as their surprise the kids and I did this 2 years ago and loved it. I know they would because my parents enjoy Epcot and Illuminations. However I know how hard they can be to book and I will be in Disneyland when my first few days come available to call. What other ideas or suggestions do you have to do something special for my parents? I also thought about the HOB Gospel brunch, they have wanted to do this for years, the menu looks fantastic for that but we talked about lunch there one day we all love it. Looking for something new and different and it can be for just them, the kids and I are going to US the one day and they have that day free as of right now, so I coud plan something then for them. I am stumped for once. My kids are easier to surprise then my parents.

yes they have seen LaNouba, in fact my mom went with me last year an we had front row seats, amazing show!

If you would like to stay at the BoardWalk, have you considered renting points from a DVC owner? For that many people it might be the way to go. Unless you already have free dining in your package.

I don't know how special you were looking for.

What about getting a boxed lunch for everyone and renting a Pontoon boat for a couple of hours. They hold 10 people and you can wander around the seven seas lagoon at your leisure. Maybe even get on ole Discovery Island.

IT's not very WOW but I know how much my parents would rather do something with their grandchildren than go to a show without them.

And it's a nice break from all the rushing about.

That does sound nice and relaxing and that is what this trip is for them, and I agree I think they would prefer that over a show they have already seena few times. Thanks for the idea.

We have also booked a cruise on the seven seas lagoon with a driver at sunset. That way we could cruise for a while and then see Wishes from the water - very cool.

Is yours the actual Wishes cruise? If not how did you get that boat and get it to coincide with Wishes, are they different boats? I know I can't make my cruise reservation until 90 days out.
