I get a chest cold every month

I don’t know what else I can do to prevent them I am talking to my primary care doctor at the end of the month but wondering if anyone else has gone though it

I wash my hands
I take a allergy medicine every night
I eat healthy

I had continuous lung/chest issues this fall. It finally took 2 rounds of prednisone to get the inflammation in my lungs to settle down. I've been healthy for about 7 weeks now, but this morning, the coughing and soreness started again. I'm going to see my PCP on Wednesday to see what to do next- but I'm thinking it's going to be more prednisone. I swear- I'm going back to wearing a mask. It was nice to not be sick, not have allergies, etc. these past 2-ish years.

I wear a mask most anytime I am around people indoors. Lat night we were at a surprise 75th birthday party at a pizza joint, about 65 people in private room (it was plenty large enough). I wore my mask pretty much whenever I was not eating/drinking.

Hope you feel better soon, Wendy.

How are your vitamin d levels?

Been lacking on that lately why do you ask
Because among other things, vitamin d is known to aid your immune system And reduce inflammation. I’m not a doctor, but if your levels are low it’s something you could/should bring up at your visit. Standard bloodwork can check for it.

It’s kind of a coincidence asked lately I have been craving a lot of yogurt lately i prior to my massive craving I hated yogurt the vitamin d thing might be the why

I looked at the link I do all the above the only thing is I am always so itchy my face is the worst I will work on the urge not to itch especially public
Yes, keep your hands away from your face. It doesn’t matter whether it’s in public or not. When you put your hands to your face you give germs a way to get into your body via your nose and mouth. This can cause GI illness if you get norovirus type germs in your mouth, or respiratory illness if you get cold and flu type germs near your nose. Best things are to a) keep your hands sanitized and b) teach yourself not to put your hands near your face - itch or not.

I have chronic chest gunk because of my horrible allergies. The best thing I have found is to take Mucinex every day, even if my chest isn't feeling gunky. I take an Extra Strength one every morning (I like the Target brand of those best) and I take one of the cheaper basic, Costco brand ones at bedtime. This routine helps keep mine from turning into a true chest cold where I'm coughing all the time.
