Any one else have prblems booking cabanas?

In Nov. I called to book are Cabana, thought all was set, called end of Dec to change to AAA Rates on the 7th floor checked on our cabana and no record found. Okay, so rebooked #10 again found out $145 because of concierge discount, fine rebooked.I called today and again no record found,I spoke to a Jeo at the health Club, and said she will put me in for it again so hope all will be set now. So i guess I will have to wait a week and call to verify again. Any one else have this problem? Thanks. Buy the way, the cabana is for July.

Ahhh, the Stevie Wonder cabana, #10.

If you ask me, I'd say they're leaving it open for some hot shot. July is very busy, and I'm sure a rich person (rock/movie star) would pay big money for it.

Nothing wrong with the other cabanas near by, and if you ask me the theamed ones are just hype. They have a back drop and the chairs match the color.

#10 is the closest to the slide entrance, so that's cool. But there's nothing wrong with #9 (not threamed) if things don't work out. Here's my cabana page.

Since you seem to be having problems, I would ask if they would send you an e-mail confirmation that you have reserved the cabana.

And then just keep checking.

However, I agree with Robvia that #9 (and 8) are just as nice. In fact, last time we rented, we had 7 & 8. We actually preferred 8, as you could open all 4 sides for a breeze, instead of just the 3.

They should have linked the cabana to your reservation number. Call back and explain to them what keeps happening.

actually, rock/movie stars dont pay for anything. The HRH likes to have these people hanging out, so they comp everything.

Thanks Everyone, I called to today and the Reservation is confirmed for #10. We have stayed in 9 also, but 10 is perfect when watching the kids go down the slide. I also had them email conformation. So I guess we are all set.

Booked #9 for 4 days in late June. Was told it is themed "Beaches" and is $185. per day. Expensive, but had to do it. That cabana has always been a necessary part of our vacation.

I just got back and took pictures of the cabanas again. #9 is not theamed. I think they say cabanas 7-10 are theamed beaches because they are close to the beach. I'll let the pictures do the talking. These were all taken the morning of 02/04/07. If you want to call and complain that's fine, but don't let it ruin your trip. The only thing that makes a cabana theamed is colored chairs and the back drop. Maybe since 7-10 are so popular, they're charging extra for the beach location and view.

robvia, thanks for the updated pictures! I rented #9 May of last year and they havent changed look wise but the $ was less than the yellow submarine and stevie wonder cabana. They are in a great location.

So, I imagine when someone was told that cabana #9 was now "themed" it really meant they were just increasing the price to be the same as the others that are located on the beach.

I'm still looking for info on whether or not you can see the movie screen from cabana #6.

Where do they set up the movie screen? I've never seen it set up. Is it over by the bar? Or opposite the beach? Here is the view from Cabana #6.

You are so right, Maggie. Cabanas 8 and 9 are not themed but cost the same as 7 and 10 that are themed. The justification for the increase is the location. WOW! Thanks for the heads-up.

Now that we know the screen is in front of the bar, Cabana #6 will have a view of the screen but you'll be looking at it thru the trees. If the view isn't good enough, you can take a seat on the beach area.

I don't think the view of the screen would be too great from Cabana #6. I have cabana #10 reserved now, but I may switch it to Cabana #1. I don't think its worth the extra price to be able to see the screen from the cabana. We can just watch it from the pool or the beach! We had Cabana #1 last time (when they set the screen up on the beach side) and we really liked the location. It was right by the food and very convenient.
