One of our little foster sons that will be joining us on our trip in September, has a milk and milk proteins allergy (among other things). He will be not quite two years old when we go, so fully aware of anyone having treats (Mickey Ear ice creams!) that he is not. I plan to pack his cookies and other non-perishable treats that he can have, but thought it would be great if there were things available in the parks that he could eat as well. He can't have acidic fruits either, like strawberries, oranges, or other citrus. No nuts, eggs, or dairy products like butter.

Any suggestions?

DS almost 2 has soy and milk allergies. I know they have Rice Dream ice cream. We were offered it last year at the restuarants but didn't get it. :confused3 We plan on getting it this year. If you are on the ddp or having any tables adrs = there is a form to fill out w/ disney. I emailed it back to them. I listed all of our ADRs and the restuarants were aware of the allergies when we checked in. The chefs came out to our table and made meals for him that he could have. If it was a buffet, they walked the buffet with me so I knew what was safe for him to eat. At counter services- when you go to order ask for the book with the ingrediants. They will usually have a manager come out and help order the food so it is safe for him to eat too. Also when you get the form- I got the number for food services from Disney Dining. Someone contacted me back and emailed me the form. It also listed what treats were available that were dairy free in each of the parks. In your case for the other allergies it may also list those too. You only need to contact one park and they will handle it for all parks.

I totally know what you mean about not being able to hide treats-- DS chases down dd6 for her snacks. He tries soo hard. He is still too young to know that it will make him sick.

I hope this helps. Enjoy your trip

Itzakadoozie and fruit bars are available at the ice cream carts.

Mickey Mouse rice krispy treats may be non-dairy... they have the ingredients listed on them.

Also, in the past, we've been able to get rice or soy milk at the food court of our WDW resort for the same price as a regular children's milk.

Travelled with my niece who is vegan. There were other choices but you have to ask. Every counter service restaurant has a binder you can ask to see that lists all ingredients. There can be dairy in things you do not expect. I cannot remember if the rice krispy treats had butter. (marshmallows are not vegan) At several TS places they would make her a vegan shake with rice dream. As far as carts for snacks that is harder. The popcorn is vegan which means no dairy, but you would have to check his other alleregies. Oh yeah the warm pretzels were vegan too except the one with cheese. GOOD LUCK

Are you staying on property? If so, call the resort and ask to speak with someone in dining area. They are WONDERFUL beyond words. They will be able to give you specifics and also pre order things if need be.
Best of luck!!!!

A friend just got back and her daughter has dairy allegies as well as others and she said at every restaurant the head guy came out to speak with them and make a great meal for her, as well as at the ice cream place..she said they were great there

I think that Itzakadoozies have a dairy cross contamination warning, but I could be wrong-- we don't deal with a dairy allergy (DS is allergic to wheat, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, barley and rye).

This was completely our experience. WDW has a reputation of being excellent with food allergies, and they were! I am doing a dining review of our trip right now on the restaurant review board if you want to hop over and take a look. We had a great experience.

I would recommend either calling the dining line and asking to speak with someone from special diets (you will have to leave a msg, but they will call you back within a few hours) or emailing special diets at specialdiets@disneyworld.com . Explain to them about the dietary restrictions, and they will send you a lot of info about safe treats in WDW and where to find them.

I know for sure that many places carry Divvies cookies which are free of milk, eggs and nuts. You may have to ask for them, but many places will have them in the back for you. Have a great trip-- my guess is that your little one will have plenty of treats!! --Katie

Thanks! I'm going to send an email right now. :thumbsup2

I love vacationing at Disney for this one reason & I wish I lived closer or had more money to go more often.

My 5 yo has a dairy, peanut, tree nut & egg white allergy (he can eat egg whites cooked in stuff but not as a meringue).

He loves, loves the Itzakadozes as do my other 2 who have no allergys. He got ice cream at the few table service places we went to & I got him some stuff from Divvies while there & of course he wouldn't eat it (he doesn't normally like cookies/cake).

He said the popcorn was the "best popcorn I ever had" and he still talks about it today (we went in August & then in 2005 with him. I was surprised he could have the popcorn & I had to go to 2 carts to get the ingriedient book.

He ate the turkey leg. Sadly the chicken nuggets are not dairy free anymore. They used to be.

Good Luck & have fun!
