Any news on Wyndham Orlando???

I am visiting Orlando for the first time in 11 days (how excited!!!???) the only downer is the things that I have read about the work going on at the Wyndham Orlando, which is where we are booked for 2 weeks from the 20th!

Does anyone have any up-to-date info (please say something good!!). I am booked with Airtours (who are still denying all knowledge of any renovations!!).

I don't know the status of any renovations, but we've stayed at the Wyndham Orlando 4-5 times in the past and loved it (most recently in January, 2003) The grounds are beautiful, there are 3 full size pools, a hot tub, ice cream parlor (near the pool), small playground area, a beautiful gym and it's close to EVERYTHING on I-Drive. I've read some negative things about the Wyndham lately too. We usually visit in the off season and usually get our room through Priceline. If I felt like they were putting us into an inferior room or the room was not acceptable for any reason, I would ask for another room. If the second one wasn't acceptable, I'd ask for a third and so on. (Because we visit in the off-season, the hotel is not filled to capacity) If your room is not acceptable upon arrival, be persistent and firm and I'm sure they'll find an acceptable one. We have never had to change rooms though. We've always been satisfied with the rooms we've been assigned. Think positive and have a great trip!!!

I agree ask for another room and if they cannot accomodate then take names and let them know you will "take no prisioners" when it comes to reporting it to top brass. You will get what you want. The reservations are down in Orlando and everyone is feeling the pinch. They do not want to alinenate anyone.
