Where is your reservation? The South Wing has a way to go before it is finished (the long wing that tees off the South Wing lobby).

Thanks for that heads up. Our trip last month was on short notice and I was unable to book deluxe so we took the buses virtually everywhere so I didn't get a look at the construction. I booked wing, It's water view, so if south is still down guess we'll have north along the water side. I don't care, we all just suffered monorail withdrawal this last trip. Plus you don't realize how big the deluxe rooms are till you stay in a moderate

I spoke to a cm a few weeks ago and they told me that you can request a room that has been refurbished. Hope that helps.

Actually, we stayed in the South Wing. Only a portion of the wing is under construction. It was pleasant and quiet. We loved the big room and the big bathroom.

I think we are staying at CR and I read it is due finished in October (?)

Actually, the rehab is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2006 or beginning of 2007.

Deb, good to know that they haven't completely closed down the South wing. We stayed there once years ago and agree about it being quiet. IF they put us in south I'd prefer a refurbished room, we'll be checking in late though, around 10PM, guess it's a luck of the draw.

Robin, I'll be there (knock on a redwood tree) 9/12...I'll try and request a new room...two of our children have bad asthma and the better the chance that we can get into a newly refurbed room that hasn't been smoked in or gone through multiple chemical cleanings will be a huge plus for us. I am weary of requesting a new room though if they're only in the South wing because that is the smoking wing...they told me the smoking is on the 1st floor...but smoke rises and that makes no sense...you'd think they'd put it on the 3rd floor. Maybe it'll be all nonsmoking after the refurbs...I don't know..but I'll let ya know when we return!
