I'm sitting on a bench right now where the old RC tower used to sit and it appears the front half of the work is done. All they did was tear down the old Pop's Place quick service and left the restrooms. The pool is still there and the new fencing is up right to the edge of the pool. The pool slides are still there, but they may have taken a scrub brush to them. The rockwork doesn't look completely nasty. I'll have pictures later tonight.

Just don't "DISAPPEAR" like someone else who posted pics!

Restrooms stay and NOTHING will be done to RC according to a source that was correct about BLT long before anything was leaked out. I trust my source.

When we visited a couple of weeks back, there was no evidence that anything was happening to the water park section of RC. The area they are working on has become a part of Mickey's Backyard BBQ. I don't know why they would bother taking the boardwalk and gazebo out, but leave all those slides and equipment in RC for everyone to see, and for someone to potentially sneak in and get hurt on.

Someone had mentioned a while back that there were dump trucks with signs that said "River Country Project" or something, and heavy equipment in place tearing the place apart. Was there in fact anything of the sort, on even a limited scale?

I guess what I am really trying to do is work myself into a lather over this and find an excuse to make another day trip, looking for some answers. So, so.....there. Whew!

What I'm really hoping is that while I'm wasting time typing this, clkelley will have uploaded those photos!

Carol, you're starting to make me worry now. Was your surveillance, surveyed by someone who didn't want those photos released? Did you get lost in that TAB of yours? Does a rabid otter have you up a tree somewhere? Have you simply forgotten us?

Sorry all!!! Nothing as sinister as all that!! Last night, I just was so tired and went to bed. (Up till 3am on airplanes on Friday night, then ran out of steam early on Saturday).

Finally on the computer tonight for a bit, and just realized I don't have the USB connection cord for the camera with me.

Unfortunately, wasn't staying at the Fort, was at Pop Century, now I'm back over near UCF gonna be at work all week. Rick is driving down next Saturday, and I've instructed him to bring the camera charger and cable.

I'm here now and can report only that the gazebo and walkway are completely gone, but I can't see any evidence (at least from the boat or from the BBQ area) of anything within rc itself being torn down.
