Any New Jerseyans having trouble due to dr strike?

My friend called 3 of her dr's today trying to be seen for headaches...all on strike.

I was lucky, my pediatrician's office is working with a skeleton staff to only see REALLY sick kids. My DD has a 104 fever and an ear infection. Luckily I didn't have to take her to the ER, my neighbor had to and waited over 2hrs!!!!

two sick kids home today. They've been sick since Sat. night. Both upper respiratory things. One with a fever and probably flu. Called dr. today. He won't have anything but emergency appt;s this week, and then not til Wed. He called me in some scripts. I am full support of the dr's but wish my kids could be seen today. It is flu season, so I am sure the er's are flooded.

My DD 12 had oral surgery this morning, no problem here, thank goodness, appt. was made over 2 weeks ago.

I'm in support of the docs, the malpractice insurance rates are going through the roof. We had one doc in our area close his practice here and opened a practice in Hawaii.

I have not had to call the doctor but my friend was unable tog et her daughter an aapointment today because all that is going on with the mal practice insurance. I do support the doctors on this but why do the kids have to suffer.

My DD had an appointment with an allergist for today and they cancelled it.
Nothing that was life threatening but now due to scheduling, DD has to wait an entire month to get another appointment.

I'm worried about it. I am suppose to have a consultation for oral surgery next week, and I am very afraid it will be canceled. Then I bet I will have to wait another two months for another appointment!!! If this drags on, I may forget about having my wisdom teeth pulled, and just learn to live with pain!!! Rotten timing for me.

It figures - I finally got the nerve to get the teeth pulled, and now it looks like I may not be able to! I don't need this delay!
