Would amenities be more convenient if we were staying at POR? Does the boat to DTD leave from POFQ? Do they have their own food court? How far of a walk is it to POR?

Thanks!

The boats leave from PO and POFQ. POFQ has its own foodcourt and the walk is about 15 minutes at a leisurely pace. It's a pleasant walk along the water. There are benches along the way to sit and relax. We love POFQ!:thumbsup2

Well, it depends on what amenities you are talking about. If you are talking about the pool and its proximity to your room, you have a better chance of getting a close room at POFQ, due to its small size.

Now, POFQ does not have quiet pools, only a main pool, which is rather nice. They also don't have bicycles for rent. But POR has both of these and POFQ guests are welcome to use both.

Yes, POFQ has their own food court, but they do not have a TS restaurant. POR does. And I've never walked it, but I've been told it's a ten to fifteen minute walk to POR.

And yes, the boat goes to DTD from POFQ.

The smaller, more intimate size is one of the reasons I love POFQ. After walking all day in the parks, how far do you really want to walk from the bus to your room, then to the food court or pool at your resort?

Maybe they changed it since then, but I think I remember that the DTD boat tended to stop at POR before picking up at POFQ? So if they're full you may have to wait longer. Honestly, we've only taken the boat twice, so someone correct me if I'm wrong. But I can tell you that it is one amazing ride near sunset when it's cooler and very peaceful. :thumbsup2

The have never eaten at POR, so I can't say POFQ is better or worse than it. But I can say I didn't care for the food at POFQ. What they do to biscuits and gravy is like heresy :crazy2:  The only thing I preferred at POP over POFQ was the food.

There are boats from POFQ to POR and DTD. You may have to wait a while because the boats do start at POR. I love the hot tub at POFQ the best. It is secluded and quiet. The one at POR is at the main pool in the thick of things.

I have never stayed at POR, but I have at POFQ. Here's what I know:

POFQ:
Best for couples or families with small children.
(1) Smaller resort. Nothing is very far.
(2) Cute pool with "beginner" slide.
(3) Romantic New Orleans feel.
(4) Beignets at the food court.
(5) Bus picks up and drops off first and then goes to POR.

POR:
Best for families with older kids or families of 5
(1) Bigger resort, variety of architectures.
(2) More grown-up pool, faster slide. Quiet pools.
(3) Table Service restaurant.
(4) Yehaa Bob Jackson at the Roost! (http://www.yehaabob.com/Page5.asp)
(5) Pole Fishing available.
