I will be going to DLR in 2 weeks :dance3: YEAH!!! Souvenir shopping is a big part of our trip. Any souvenirs we should check out??? What kind of T Shirts are the hot sellers this year???

Let's see....

DD loves getting a drawings from the artist in Off the Page. She buys one or two every trip. They run about $35 without a frame.

We usually get a silhouette done on Main Street.

I LOVED the HUGE mugs they used to have, but they no longer make that style. We'll be looking for another style this year.

Pins are always fun, though I'm not a huge trader - it's all about buying the pin that brings up good memories when I'm home!

We try to get one or two shirts while there.

The MOST important thing for us is pictures.

Have a wonderful time!

I didn't buy one, but I really liked this shirt!

I also saw a lot of girls and boys walking around in adult sized Buzz Lightyear shirts that were pretty cool.

My entire family loves Vinylmations - and for my daughter it has been a great way for her to become comfortable interacting with CMs as she tries to trade for her coveted pick of the trip. We usually buy one the first day and then spend the rest of the trip trying to trade for the one she really was hoping for. I'm a souvenir junkie too - I think my budget this year is a little ridiculous, but I just love walking out of the park at night and being drawn in to the stores on Main Street and now I'll have the shops on Buena Vista Steet to contend with too!

To the previous poster, they do. My DH got me a Beauty and the Beast one for me as a bday gift for me on this trip. (O. lighted miniatures.)

I love the shopping, my DH thinks I am nuts he doesn't understand my need to go in every shop. LOL.

I love pins, so that is a big one for me. I don't trade, I get the ones I like, and I also collect Belle. I buy postcards for the scrapbook. Usually an ear hat of some sort. (Sparkly Minnie headband this trip as well as Glow with the Show.) A hoodie or sweatshirt.

This year I got a "bag tag" in Frontierland. It's a leather Minnie Mouse that I could add my name to.

I try to find something unique each trip. But other faves include Christmas ornaments, a Mickey Mouse piece of luggage, NBC Harvey's Seatbelt Bag, sterling charms for my charm bracelet.

I should also add, I bring home a turkey leg each trip for my Dad. LOL

We usually fly, and I bring plastic bags to keep it in. My Dad pops it in the oven to warm it up. We get it right before we walk out of the park, and its usually still warm when we get home.

If you buy any food or drinks at a lot of the restaurants, they will give you a receipt that has a 20% off coupon on the bottom that is valid at most main street shops if you purchase before 12:30 pm.

It lists the following stores, but when you ask the cashier at a lot of the other stores they say they also take it.

disneyland
- emporium
- disney clothiers
- the star trader

DCA
- Ts Hats and Tattoos
- Elias and Co

Downtown Disney
- World of Disney Store

I guess they do this since most people purchase later in the day instead of earlier to avoid lugging them around. But you can check your merchandise in for free if you show them your receipt at the newstand shop near the entrance. 20% puts a nice dent in the otherwise inflated souvenir prices. My coupons said they expire Aug 15, and I don't know how long they will be doing this.

I love the shopping, my DH thinks I am nuts he doesn't understand my need to go in every shop. LOL.

Me too. I'm a souvenir junkie. I'll go into a store a couple of times because I *know* I must have overlooked something.

Right now, my favorite things are my big, Kristen Dooney & Bourke Disneyland Anniversary tote. It's enormous and holds everything!

I also love my Chamilia charm bracelet. I bought it and a few beads in Disney World last year. When we go to Disneyland, I add a charm. (Can't wait to get the Disney Cruise Line one in June :cool1:)

I also like notepads. I have them all over the house, so they might as well be Disney.

Okay, so after reading some of the posts, I have something to say....

Hi, my name is Julie and I'm a Disney souvenir junky. I like pens, light up boxes, Dooney purses, t-shirts, Jim Shore figures and other bits of stuff. Sigh. That feels better.

I will probably start a Camilia bracelet. My DH wanted to start one for me, but he didnt like any of the beads. He already started me a Pandora bracelet.

I try to have a list with me on what I want to get, and I usually wind up with other stuff. LOL

I should also add, I bring home a turkey leg each trip for my Dad. LOL

Now we're talking the type of souvenir I can relate to!!

I always back gallon sized baggies because I bring home the following:

8 boxes of popcorn (two boxes per baggie)

6 chicken skewers from Bengal Barbque

10 two packs of Fudge Mallows

Several Rockie Road candy tins

Assorted Fudges

We've brought back Churros in the past but they don't travel well. Then there is the time a friend put 4 Monte Cristo Sandwichs from BB on an airplane and flew them to Chicago for me. :)

You know those GIANT mugs they sell? My husband loves Jack Skellington and has since the movie first came out. When we saw the Jack mug I insisted he buy it even tho he felt 'adult guilt' spending money on himself *rolleyes* It is the whole family's favorite mug.

You can fit (and I only know this because of DH..it sorta scares me that we know this) two whole packs of Ramen in it ;)
