My husband spilled the beans and told me he ordered one for Christmas - hard to blame him, I've wanted one forever but they only just started shipping to Canada. I was all set to buy the darn thing myself! :rotfl:

Anyway, not knowing anything about how it feels of handles (except though reviews) what accessories do I need?? I assume it needs a case to keep it safe on the go, and I was thinking the waterproof one for using it in the bath... Anything else?

Congrats :)

My husband bought my Kindle for me for Mother's day and he didn't add the warranty to it and I really wish he would have. You might want to check with your husband. Some people prefer the Amazon warranty and some prefer SquareTrade.com - either way I'd recommend adding accidental damage because things seem to happen to Kindles. There's a 40% off code at Square Trade right now, HolidayMail.

I use a large ziplock bag for the bathtub.

You'll probably want to add a case but there are a zillion options there. Kindleboards.com has an accessories forum if you want to see what others have.

I bought a special cover for the bathtub but it's very unwieldy - I'm sure it's watertight but it has these knobs on the top that make it very heavy. I would rather just use a ziplock in the tub or take a magazine.

I have the M Edge leather covers for all three of my Kindles and I love them.

Make sure you tell everyone to get you Amazon gift cards for Christmas!!

I just ordered one. I bought a Belkin zip case for it.
I wondered about the warranty.....

I try to be really careful HM but I also eat and drink with my Kindle on my lap, take it out to places like ball fields and the beach or poolside, carry it in my purse where it gets knocked around .... I know that I don't have to do those things but on the other hand I like to enjoy my Kindle...

I haven't broken mine yet but I'm also a klutz. My heart stops every time I drop it.

Darn it, I'm ineligible for both of these options for warranty! Amazon is solely for the US and SqareTrade will only cover for Canadians if the item is bought off eBay US...

Wow - I didn't know Amazon wasn't offering the warranty in Canada. That sucks.

Maybe ask at Kindleboards if anybody knows of any Canadian options.
