So, we've been to Sea World quite a few times and have always been less than impressed with the food. We just went last week and ended up bringing sandwiches each day and eating back at the van. We do get a popcorn bucket and refill it a couple times and we do the refill drinks. Are we missing something? Is there some awesome food at Sea World that we should be trying?

Oddly, the ribs at Calypso Bay Smokehouse are some of the better ribs one can find in San Diego County.

They are good. Not great. Perhaps elevated by the location they are at.

We usually pack our food as you do or take a quick jump to Pizza Port or Pt. Loma Seafood.

the food in the bakery is good. We shared a muffin and a cup of strawberries with whipped cream. both were delish.

I really like the beef sandwich at Shipwreck Rapids. Calypsos is also good. Stay far away from Mama Stellas though

Dining with Shamu is an amazing experience and the food is better than any I found in the park. Definitely recommend doing this if you never have before!

That being said, aside from the popcorn, Sea World food for me has always been a total disappointment.

We did the Dine with Shamu in December! We even got adults at the kid's price (Black Friday promo). We were very happy with it! Food-wise, I though some items (such as the salmon, Mac & cheese and some of the desserts) were very good (other stuff was ho-hum for me, but good for others in my group - my parents loved the ribs - and, is it just my imagination, or idoes a Shamu cookie taste worlds better than a Mickey head cookie?). Overall, it was a very good experience and we may try it again if they run a similar promo. I also got the cutest picture of my girls with an orca. :)
