We are going to Canada next month for a family wedding, about 2 hours north of Winnipeg. Will be staying in Winnipeg going up and coming home and thought if there is anything we should see we could spend an extra day or two. I have been online looking and so far only see a zoo, but I am thinking there must be a lot more to do and I am not looking in the right places. Any ideas?

You should go to the Forks, it's a large Market, always lots of fun. There's also a nice Children's Museum there if you have children traveling with you. The zoo is somewhat run down, and our only polar bear passed on recently. But the Assiniboine park where the zoo is found is lovely and a great place for a picnic. I guess it all comes down to who is traveling with you. Are you by yourself, with a partner or with children? If there are no children, I highly recommend going to the McPhillips Street Station Casino and going on the "Millenium Express," it's a sort of ride that walks you through Manitoba's History AND it was designed and built by Walt Disney Imagineers. It's certainly a little gem that's tucked away in the city.
