Hello,
Going to DL the first week of April for a once in a lifetime trip. Can't fathom wasting 2+ hours staking out a space for the MSEP parade. Didn't really want to do special dining since I was splurging on WOC dessert party. There will be only 2 of us but we are on the short side. Any tips and tricks to avoid this?

Know if there is one or two showings for the day.
We like to go to the second showing when there are two. There aren't as many people.
Look around and see where you might have a nice view as you walk around for the day.
With 2 people you shouldn't have too much trouble finding a place to squeeze in a few minutes before the second parade.
The first parade is another story.

Geemo--we are going next week and we have 2 parades. But, the parks close early so the 2nd parade isn't that late, it's at 8:45. I'm thinking of waiting till the 1st parade is over and then grabbing (hopefully) a curb spot as I assume people will immediately start waiting for the 2nd parade. We have a big group with 11 people so there is no sliding in at the last minute for us. Have you been when the 2nd parade is so early?

No I haven't.
It might be best to figure out what area you want to be in for viewing.
The first parade generally starts by IASW and travels up to the front of the park.
The second parade is the reverse.
One thing I found out when I went the first of Feb was it's all standing for viewing except for the very front row on the curb.
At least this is how the CM's handled it where I was in front of City Hall that night.

The most I ever gone with were 7 and that was quite a group.
I like your idea of grabbing your spot at the end of the first parade. With only 2 hours in between that isn't too bad of a wait.
