Every time we go to the world, I always say I'm gonna try this one. But it doesn't take much for my motion sickness problem to ruin my day, so I always end up taking the "chicken" exit at the last minute.

Has anyone ever had a problem with this on Dinosaur???

Never had a problem with this or others (as of yet). I do not like spinning rides (Teacups), they do make me dizzy. Dino is a fairly rough ride, bouncing and jerking. I guess it depends on what might cause you to have motion sickness, if you have experienced it in the past. It is a fun ride.

I get motnion sick pretty easy and it is getting worse each year. I don't do Star Tours, Body Wars or spinners. I can do ToT and will be somewhat sick afterwards. Coasters are starting to be pretty bad for me too. I do Dinosaur on every trip and am usually a bit sick afterward but not quite enough to not go!!!

I'm the opposite. I can ride every thing else in the World, but Dinasaur made me sick as a dog for a couple of hours afterwards. Like someone said, it's very jerky and rough, and it makes a lot of quick, sharp turns.

It didn't bother me in the least. I get totally sick on "Body Wars", but "Dinosaur" wasn't bad at all.

i get sick on: Body Wars and the tea cups. Have been to afraid of horking to try Star Tours and will more than likely not give Mission Space a try when we are there next (which is in 2 days :bounce: just had to throw that in there :D )

With that said.....Dinosaur does not make me sick at all. I guess i can handle the jerky movements because they are interspersed with forward motions. (given that reasoning, i am gonna give TS a try this time around.)

I would have to say that at this point, Dinosaur maybe the most rough and jerky ride in WDW. I know some people can't take Body Wars, and I believe that Dinosaur is rougher than that.

That said, I don't profess to have an iron stomach, but I got through Dinosaur just fine. The thing I would worry more about on Dinosaur is my back or neck becoming sore, not my stomach.

I get sick on rides that go round. Dinosaur is very jerky and dark but it does not make me sick in the slightest.

I suppose it depends if you have a specific motion sickness like me,as rollercoasters do not make me sick unless they do the loops a number of times.

I get motion on almost everything even the busses to the parks and sometimes when I am walking with sunglasses on :o but I was able to do most rides at WDW with a few exceptions. Most spinning rides are awful except for Dumbo, I did fine on that. I got a little queasy on BTMRR but not enough to do me in for the day, same with Space Mountain but Dinosaur did not affect me at all. Now if I were to ride it 4 or 5 times in a row I'd have a different story to tell!! If you are prone to motion sickness I suggest taking meclizine about an hour before you start out in the morning. I actually only took half a pill each day because I was afraid of getting sleepy and that worked fine for me. There have been several threads about meclizine and other motion sickness remedies that are very helpful!! Good luck!

I get a little queasy on Star Tours and Body Wars, and VERY SICK (like, I actually turn sort of green and start shaking) on rollercoasters or drop rides like ToT. I also get carsick at the drop of a hat.

That said, I love Dinosaur! I believe it was still Countdown to Extinction when I was on it, but I doubt they've changed it much. It was one of the only thrill rides I've ever been on that I could get off of feeling good, and I rode it quite a few times.

I think if you have just roller-coaster-type motion sickness, you should be fine. Unfortunately you can never really know til you try.

No problems on Dinosaur for me. I feel sick after Teacups, Astro Orbiter, Mission: Space, and even Dumbo, but Dinosaur doesn't have any spinning, or even any stomach-lifting drops, so it doesn't bother me. It is really jerky--more so than Star Tours. But it doesn't have the movie like Star Tours does--the movie in Star Tours is what makes me queasy.

I say go for Dinosaur!

I think you've all convinced me to give it a go. Now if I can just convince myself NOT to use that chicken exit . . . . .

Those second thoughts always pop up just at boarding time !!

Not to be confused with Mescaline. That would make Dinosaur an entirely different ride. :)

Aw gee , therealgoofy . . . . you have a way of takin' the fun out of everything!! GARSH!!!!

I avoid roller coasters like the plague due to motion sickness, but have been ok on Dino. I know it spoils half the ride but keeping my eyes closed and screeming the whole way round usually helps!!!

My dh & I think this is one of the best rides at WDW. Yes, it is very jerky but well worth it.
