Any Memorial On 9/11 Each Year??

We were there on the actual 9/11 in MK when it closed for the day. One of our hopes was to go back on 9/11 and go to any Memorial or special Flag Retreat that day in honor of all the victims. Could not make it the actual day in 2002 or 2003 but we will be there this year..Can anyone tell me of any ceremony in any parks that they hold or do they do anything special at the Flag Retreat on 9/11?? Any info is helpful....

I was at WDW for the second anniversary this past year. They did a very special flag retreat at MK that day. They had some Disney official make a speech and the Voices of Liberty sang a few patriotic songs, including the Star Spangled Banner. They had a few WDW workers who were miltary do the actual flag retreat. It was really nice, and it was really heartening to see how many people took a few moments out of their vacation to take part in the ceremony.

Last summer they had the flag from the twin towers inside the American pavillion. It was framed with an explanation of what it was. I'm not sure it is still there.

I enjoyed seeing that flag. It was very moving to me. Unfortunately it is no longer on display at WDW.
