My child had several blood tests ordered last week and I've still not heard any results. I've checked in with the physician's office, and they say they'll call as soon as they know anything. A CBC, a SED rate and immunities and antibodies to ParvoB19. How long should these take? I think the CBC and SED would be pretty immediate....what about the ParvoB19?

I do. Here's what I can offer.

If the testing is being done on the premises, a day or two woud be the optimum test turn-around-time. But, the blood may need to be sent via courier, for example, to the testing site from the draw site. That would add time. Also, if the lab is experiencing a back log of work it will add to the time, further, the results must be reported back to the doctor as the lab will not report the results to you but to the doctor, so another day or so there.

Hope that helps.
