Any meals that you suggest NOT getting?

After reading (and posting on) this thread, I went home and asked DH for his opinion. He thought about it for a long time, and then I could see he had his answer.

"I don't know specifically, but whichever meal made me gain 12 pounds on our first cruise is the one I will NEVER eat again!) :rotfl2:

I must have had the same meal since I gained 11 pounds! :confused3

Overall I really loved the food. Most of it was a little fancy for my tastes but it was nice trying lots of different meals "for free" I would normally never pay to experiment with.

The only thing I wish they would do differently is to have a bigger selection of appetizers/soups & salads. A few nights I had a tough time picking two things out.

I don't know what it was but the cookie dough soft serve on Serenity Bay was the best soft serve I've ever had!

:flower: Have never been on a Disney cruise (yet)... :earsgirl: going November of 2005 :earsgirl: , but I can definitley hypothesize that ONE of the most disgusting things you could be served on the ship is an "Uncrustable" , a circular wad of processed wonder bread that was previously frozen....appropriately stuffed with cheap peanut butter and clumps of cheap jelly  ...... DISNEY'S excuse for a peanut butter and jelly sandwitch. :crazy2: :scared: :crazy2: :scared:

The only food I actually couldn't finish (because I disliked it so much) was the Fruit-stuffed Pork Loin with mashed potatoes that was part of the old Tropicali menu (now Pirates night). The meat was dry, overcooked, and very dull, and the mashed potatoes tasted like instant, very glue-like.

I don't know if the "Roasted Loin of Pork" on the current Pirates menu is the same dish, but if so... beware!

There isn't a bad meal on Disney because if you don't like what you ordered, they'll bring you something else. I bet on any given cruise there are 100 kids under age 10 that would trade you a lobster tail for an Uncrustable....and would think YOU were the wacko one. :jumping1:

Mushroom Risotto!

Oh, gosh yuck. Intensely salty, almost more than anything I've ever tasted, combined with way way way too much parmesan (I think?) cheese. One bite of that plus a sip of the drink I ordered that must've had some sort of banana liquer in it... <stomach churns>

This is my DH's favorite--it is the reason he is ready to book trip #4 :cool1:
