My DS6 asked me today if there are any magicians at Disney World. Are there any magic acts in any of the parks?

Thanks.

There's also a magic store at downtown Disney, I believe it is, that does demonstrations throughout the day. I've also seen waiters who knew sleight of hand tricks at a couple of restaurants (but they were obviously not hired for this tallent, as one was at Coral Reef and one was at pepper market, of all places, they just did a couple of little tricks to entertain some cranky kids) and a juggler who did some very small tricks as part of his act at MGM.

There is a wonderful magician/slight of hand performer, named Jason Wethington, who currently works on Friday evenings at the Rose & Crown pub at the UK pavilion in Epcot. He will do one-on-one close-up magic that will amaze you!

Here is Jason's schedule, just click on the purple Epcot tab and scroll to UK, to check to see if he will be there during your trip.
Seek him out, you won't be disappointed! :thumbsup2

:goodvibes  :goodvibes We have an ADR for there on a Friday night! WOOHOO! Can't find out if he's there for our night quite yet (or I'm missing his dates) but here's hoping! what a cool surprise, thank you so much!

You can also find magicians, jugglers, etc. strolling the Boardwalk
(near Epcot) in the evening hours too.

Regards,

Paul

At the Boardwalk Resort, there's a guy who usually does card tricks and a little magic. But all along the World Showcase at Epcot, there are many entertaining acts. Your DS will be happily entertained even if they don't do magic. There might also be somebody at MGM, there's always a bunch of people walking the main street of MGM doing performances, a magician might be included in that.

We were at WDW from 7/28-8/13 and saw a magician at DTD. Here is the info off Steve Soares site. I don't know if he is always there, or if it's just a summer thing. He was fantastic and funny! I highly reccomend!

My son also bought a few things (on two seperate occasions) from the Magic Masters shop. Take your son there, because they show them tricks that are appropriate for their ages. There are some pretty inexpensive items too. I think we paid $15 for a card trick with instructions for 100 tricks. $15 for a dimes/nickel trick and $28 for a cup and ball trick and it included a magic wand.

If any DISers go to the Rose & Crown and enjoy Jason's magic, please email Disney Guest Communications at wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com to pass along any compliments! He is such a talented, classy guy. One night a week is hardly enough! :sunny:

They just sent a MAJOR "conjurer" permanently PACKING yesterday (Aug. 15) from the MK.

MERLIN, was the star of "The Sword in the Stone Ceremony" that took place most days if front of the Carousel in Fantasyland.

Merlin, a somewhat absent-minded "magician" (I think he prefers the term, "Wizard") whose tricks often went a bit "astray," still managed to entertain thousands of happy guests with his light-hearted (very FUNNY, actually) banter and antics.

Sadly, that show was closed permanently yesterday afternoon.

(I guess "wizards" get paid on the 15th and the 30th of the month.)

When we were checking in at BWV in December, we were greeted by a magician in the lobby who did some card tricks with my DDs - he was amazing! He was the equivalent of David Blaine. He had my DD9 write her name on a card and put it in the deck, then a few seconds later, pulled it out of his wallet. Later, DH and DS came by and told us they had run into him earlier and the magician was doing a card trick with DH and after the trick was over, reached into his back pocket, pulled out a watch and asked DH "do you want this back?" DH said he couldn't believe it - he had no idea that he took off his watch. He was really enjoyable and made our trip even more memorable.

Thank you everyone for all the information. I'm taking lot of notes. Unfortunately, we won't be able to go to Epcot on a Friday night. The only Friday night we are at DW is our last night and we'll be doing MK that day. Trying to avoid hoppers if we can. I will definitely try and get to the shop at Downtown Disney. Now, I can tell DH that I HAVE to go there.
