Any luck changing resorts on free dining bookings?

I've seen posts of good and bad experiences with calling to change the resort on bookings made during the free dining promo. Anyone called recently? I'm hoping to upgrade from ASMo to CBR, but I'm wondering if they'll even let me.

Hi not to worry ....I changed mine about two weeks ago from POFQ to Wl..it was easy. It all depends on availability...if they have rooms then you are ok. I must change my mind at least 3 times a trip!! Good Luck

As long as there is availability (of free dining rooms, not regular availability) they'll allow you. If a resort didn't fill up all of their free dining rooms, those will still be available to switch to. We had ASM and wanted to add on two days and got a GREAT CM who was very patient and found us a room. I told her we understood we may have to upgrade view and that wasn't a problem if that's all that's available so she checked standard and preferred for all three All Stars and then finally found us a standard at Pop and switched us.

We didn't change resorts, but we did change dates and were able to keep the free dining. We were going to stay at Pop 9/29 - 10/5. I called a couple weeks ago to see if we could move the dates to 9/22 - 9/28. At that time, there was no availability at either of my value choices ~ Pop or ASMo. I called again yesterday, and was able to change the dates at Pop. So...if you really want to change resorts or dates and haven't been able to...keep trying and you may succeed.

how much did it cost you to upgrade? I asked to upgrade from Pop to POFQ and they said it would be over $400 more. That sounded like a lot to me.

I actually haven't figured it out yet. My final payment is due by Aug. 12, so I was worried about getting it paid down in time. I have it nearly paid off (only $300 left) and I didn't want to add to that if I could avoid it! So what I did was downgrade our tix from 9-day base to 1 day base, and then upgrade the resort. The CM said I can call anytime up to 3 days before arrival and upgrade the tickets without a penalty fee.

With the savings on the tickets, upgrading to 9 days at CBR, standard room, added about $35 to our total.

9 days at ASMo with free dining and 9 day base tix (2 adults, 1 child) was $1552.04.

9 days at CBR with free dining and 1 day base tix is $1588.03.
