Any Legoland tips?

Could use some advice on trading minifigs. We're planning a one day trip this November and I was just looking on ebay for minifigs. Trying to figure out how many I should get for the kids. They love trading pins at WDW (they will usually trade about 40 pins each trip) but didn't know if they would have as much opportunity to trade at LL. Any advice? I was thinking of getting the kids 10 each but was afraid that wouldn't be enough. Any advice? TIA!

We just returned from LL last week.... I did the same thing, bought some minifigs from ebay so my kids could trade. Each child brought between 3-5 minifigs and honestly, they didn't even trade all that they brought. It wasn't as easy as trading the pins in Disney because not ALL of the workers wore mini-figs and there aren't nearly as many workers. Plus, the workers that are there are so busy taking care of their ride that it was hard to stop them and ask to see their figures. And by mid-day, many of their figs were as boring as the ones we brought. So, all-in-all, it wasn't as exciting trading figs as it was trading pins.
One fun mini-fig thing I'd suggest.... in the store they have a build-your-own mini fig station. You pick the hat/hair, head, shirt, body, and tool. You can build 3 figs for $9.99. Both my DS and my DD enjoyed that!

My kids really enjoy trading the minifigs when we go. The problem with the trading is that not everyone trades the "whole" figure....so usually the accessories are missing. I actually saw an employee (called Model Citizens) take an accessory off a minifig that a little boy had traded him (a backpack). My DD wanted to trade...but the employee said he wanted the accessory for his own collection...so took it off the minifig and put it in his pocket....but left the rest of the minifig intact to trade. I bought a ton of minifigs last year at Target when they had them on clearance by the registers. We traded them with all accessories....shields, swords, helmets, etc...

My one piece of advise for this park is to get there at least 1/2 hour before the park opens. The park is only open until 5pm or 6pm.....so you need to make the most of your time. We have not been since the water park opened, but I heard it can take up a chunk of your time....I think you need 2 days if you plan on seeing all of Legoland and enjoying a few hours at the waterpark.

Driving School and Boating School seem to have the longest lines....Flying School always seems to have a quick moving line....Aquawave Racers has a long line...mostly out in the hot sun, but it is a fun ride.


There is a Ruby Tuesdays right outside the parking lot that has a decent salad bar, but it does get busy after the park closes.

Definitely use a coupon....search online....with the kid's free ticket it can be worth the price, but not without.

I just got a coupon for buy an adult ticket get a child ticket free inside a box of Life cereal! I bought three adult tickets and got three child tickets for free. It has a code inside the box that you can use online, and the tickets are emailed to you within minutes. I had to make three separate transactions - it would not allow more than one free ticket per transaction.
