Might know how to tell if something is sterling silver or not?

I have a couple of rings. I know that if it says .925 or something like that its possibly real sterling.

But I have a rign that says STERLING on the inside band....can anyone tell me if that would be a sign as well. I didn't buy it thats why I want to know. I've have it for a while.

Hi! Yes, it can simply be marked "sterling", rather than stamped "925".

Unless that ring had a previous owner, who's name was "Sterling", and they had their name engraved...I am pretty sure that your ring is sterling silver.

Tee Hee. Thanks guys thats what I thought. But I buy so many dollar store rings that I have to nail polish so they don't tarnish I just wanted to be sure
