Any insights on Marvel Day at Sea?

Hello fellow Disney Cruise Line scholars! We just booked our first Disney Magic cruise for March 2018. This will be a 5-day Western Caribbean itinerary featuring Marvel Day at Sea. Our past two cruises were 4-night Bahamas itineraries on the Dream, which featured the Pirate Night event on the same day as Castaway Cay. I realize that the Marvel Day is a recent addition. Has anyone experienced this event? I am curious to know your reactions. Also, does anyone know if this replaces the Pirate Night or is it in addition to? Finally, for 5-night itinerary ending with Castaway Cay on the final day, when do these special events typically take place?

Thank you all very much!

I don't beleive that any of these have occurred yet - I think they may be starting on the summer cruises out of New York. I would look at some of the navigators from Star Wars Day at Sea to get an idea -- it will likely have all the movies playing, character M&G's, Marvel activities like trivia, special guest seminars/speakers; probably an Avengers Academy type thing like they have in the Oceaneers Club, special menu at dinner. It would seem likely to take place on the last sea day, since it is a Marvel Day at Sea - the SWDAS is the last sea day this year, and it doesn't replace pirate night, it is in addition, and has a second fireworks this year, so probably Marvel will be similar.

Thank you very much for the suggestion. I suspected that we wouldn't have too much to go on yet. Our kids will be excited for the Marvel Day at sea, but also love the Pirate Night very much. It would be phenomenal if that night isn't cannibalizes by Marvel.

Thanks again!

They don't start until October, so you won't start seeing any first hand reports until end of October, so until then it's all speculation. But you'd probably get a pretty good idea by looking at the SWDAS reports and just replace all the Star Wars stuff with Marvel stuff.
