We dodged the softball bullet last year, but it looks like we WILL be in Orlando this summer for a tournament.

These are the hotels listed by the tourney as being "team/tournament friendly." Does anyone know anything - good or bad -- about them?
I've started calling to get rates, and I'm checking out online reviews, but would like to hear from anyone who has firsthand experience.

Best Western Lakeside
Clarion Resort & Waterpark
Holiday Inn Maingate East
Palms Villas
Seralago Hotel & Suites
Mystic Dunes Resort & Golf Club
Royale Parc Suites
Tuscana Resort

Thanks!

I can only speak to Mystic Dunes. Very nice resort in a good location. We've stayed several times in the 2br units, but they also have 1br and 3br.

We just stayed at Mystic Dunes in October and really loved the resort.
The rooms are very spacious and the grounds are beautiful. Location isn't perfect, but most everything else is! :thumbsup2
edit: I just noticed you had Royale Parc Suites too! We have stayed there MANY times over the past 12 years and have had pretty good luck. The rooms have slipped a little, but they have always been ok by our standards. The location is great and their complementary breakfast is wonderful before a busy day at the parks!

I just stayed at the Lakeside this past weekend and it is no longer operated by the BestWestern.. when I say run, I mean run away from there! They only provide you with towels for 2 in the room even though they know you booked it for more, you must call for more towels. They don't provide you will an extra roll of toilet paper, you must wait until there is barely any left on the roll. Our first night there we didn't have any water, I don't mean any hot water, I mean any water period! They charge a $7.50 resort fee :lmao: like this is a resort. This is the furthest from a resort that I have ever stayed at. The room was dingy, the lampshade was actually faded. The dresser draws were broken off the tracks. There were what appeared to be "wings" from dead fly's on the bed :headache: The ice machines did not work. On the plus side, the staff was friendly and upon check out did wave my "resort fee" when I confronted them with all my "problems".. I guess they were hearing it from all were checking out that day too...

I have stayed there many times before and had always had a good stay, up until last summer. Last summer was the first time I had a problem. I had noticed then that the Best Western sign was down. There were bugs on my bed then. I had to be switched out of my room. They were not bedbugs, but live bugs were on the bed. They were not fleas either, not sure what type of bugs they were, they were tiny, ones I have not seen before. I live in FL and am use to bugs so they don't scare me easy but I am not about to have them on the bed I am sleeping in!

Had I not gotten them thru Priceline this time, I never would have booked them after having bugs on the bed over the summer. I would not suggest staying there at all. I would go elsewhere.
