I am planning on a visit to Mandara spa one morning and would like to have lunch nearby before or after. I may wander over to Epcot, but I am thinking after my spa visit I may not want too much walking around.

Any input on any of these places for lunch?
- Dolphin Fountain
- Fresh
- Yacht Club Galley

FWIW, I will be solo. We will also have eaten at B&C earlier in the week so I probably won't want to repeat it. Thanks!

We had lunch at Yacht Club Galley this past June and really enjoyed it. They had a good selection on the menu and our family of 4 had to wait only 5 minutes for a table at lunch time.:thumbsup2

Fresh is a must-do for us to do at least once if not more. It's a wonderful buffet. They have all kinds of neat stuff. They also serve Starbucks coffee upon request if that's of interest.

"Neat stuff" and Starbucks coffee?! Just where is Fresh Mediterranean Market? And do tell more about the buffet! :upsidedow

GR8FAN - did you do the buffet at lunch, or did you order off the menu? I am wondering what the lunch buffet is like.

It's been at least a couple of years. We did the buffet and had an excellent meal. I don't think you can go wrong. If you like Spoodles, you will generally like their selection.

Fresh is buffet style but the portions are tapas-sized. One time we went we got a cold buffalo anti-pasto, couscous salad, the bulgar wheat salad that usually has chopped tomato and cuke. They usually have all kinds of veggie stuff. The first time we went two years ago I think in November or December they had Beef Strogonoff. The couple we went with are vegetarian. They were introduced to the chef before joining us at the table. The chef came out a short while later with several things for them try including a veg version of the Strogonoff. We've been when they have crepes Newburgh available. There's usually a meat, a fish, and poultry hot offering each time as well as various salads, etc. They do petit fours-sized tartlets for dessert.

It's been about six or eight months since I've been and that was actually for breakfast. Are you looking for anything in particular menu-wise? I might be able to answer specific questions easier.

They have that really nice iced tea that comes in the tall slendar bottles. I believe they have plain but also flavored?

Suffice it to say, if you enjoy trying new things you'll love this place. The only downer is that they don't do DDE as they aren't Disney.

Merryweather, thanks for all the details! I love Mediterranean food so I am sure I would be happy with the menu. I just haven't seen many reviews so I didn't know much about it.

DH is in a conference for most of the week so I am treating myself to a spa visit. We are staying at BC so I am thinking of trying Mandara since it is so close. But I am a foodie and would love to have a good lunch afterwards. I am not sure if I will be feeling too zoned out after the treatments to want to wander around Epcot and get lunch there so I figured something closer would be nice.

So I guess my requirements are good food, someplace comfortable for a party of one, and someplace convenient to the spa and to BC. Sounds like Fresh might be a good choice! JJ

jayhjay I hope you opt for Fresh and enjoy it as much as we do. I think it will round off your spa day quite nicely. :thumbsup2
