Has anyone stayed here? I am looking at getting it through skyauction ( i won a ready set go) It says it sleeps eight and we`ve decided to bring along my MIL so i thought this one would be the way to go?

How close to Disney is it? I don`t care if it is an older place as long as it`s clean and taken care of.

Any info would be appreciated!!

Thanks!
Amanda

I stayed in the older section of Summer Bay years ago and did not like it. There were roaches in the kitchen. The staff wasn't very pleasant. It is too long of a drive from Disney for me (past Orange Lake on 192). At least 10 minutes from the southwest end of Disney property.

I stay at Silver Lake now. The units I have received were well maintained and clean. It is only 5 minutes from Animal Kingdom. There is construction going on now at Silver Lake so the place is a bit torn up at the moment.

I stayed there on a RSG through skyauction this past October. We were in the newer part of the resort in a 2 bedroom unit. It was very nice and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

It was very similar to most other timeshares in the Orlando area that I have stayed in. A king bed in the master with a whirlpool tub and seperate shower. The 2nd bedroom had 2 queen beds and was adjacent to the 2nd bathroom. Living room, fully equiped kitchen, dining table for 6 and a patio. There were TV's in the living room and each of the bedrooms.

The pools were fine, nothing fancy, just a basic free form style, but were nice and warm. They also had a kids splash works area with a slide, various fountains, dunking pails and such.

I know this is a reply to an old post but I couldn't help from posting...earlier this year I also tried hard to find any information on Summer Bay and found it near impossible! For some reason it is an invisible resort!! LOL Anyway, we did stay there for nine nights in May and loved it! I was very skeptical...hadn't heard anything about it. We got an amazing rate through the Orlando Magicard. Bear in mind that Summer Bay "keeps" different peak months than that of the Magicard - but if you say you are calling on the deal from the Magicard they will honor THAT.

We had two side by side units, one for our family of five and a studio for my parents. It was very "florida"...palm trees, bright green manicured grass. I realized at the end of our trip that we were in the older section. It was still terrific. The pool was large and well landscaped, with a tiki bar and kids pool and jacuzzi. There is a zero-depth entry pool in another part of the resort...we used that later in the week since it is better for children. The rooms were clean, well-decorated, cheery...again, typical florida pastels and brights. We didn't feel like it took us much time at all to get to WDW. Really! What is an extra (maybe) 5 minutes! For the price and the comfort, it was well worth it. We will probably stay there again.

Oh! They did have beautiful separate homes with indoor pools in each home. We peeked into one, but that would not work with our 3 small children. Maybe in a few years! The playground was also good. I am normally very picky in general, I have not liked Westgate in the past and also disliked a Ramada Inn. Good luck to you, hope this may help.
