I'm having trouble searching...can't find the icon. Must be a little out of it this morning!

Anyhoo...my friend is planning a trip and trying to choose between these three resorts. I know that Formosa Gardens is pretty close...near WH. Where are the other two?

Also, are they all considered to be good places to stay?

Thanks!

I have never heard of Mango Key. Here is a map that shows the villa locations:

I have not stayed at either, but I have done lots of reading on this board and have always heard good things about Formosa Gardens and Grand Palms. Grand Palms seems to consistently have good prices.

We stayed at Grand Palms in 2007. It is located in the Lindfields section just off 192. This is the quieter end of 192. It was very convenient to Disney if you use the new western way entrance. There is no traffic at all until you hit the parking lot.

Grand Palms is not what you would call a resort. It is basically a nice, quiet apartment complex. Each unit is individually owned. There is a nice clean pool and hottub, tennis court, small fitness room and a barbeque area. It is not a gated community. At one time it was and the quard stand is still there, but it is not locked. But, we always felt very safe there. There are some permanent residents there but mostly tourist families. We reallly enjoyed out stay there and will probably be going back this year.

We did pass Mango Key on the way into Grand Palms. It does not look as nice and well upkept in my opinion.

What information would you like to know about Formosa Gardens. We stay there quite a lot as can be seen from my signature.

Is it similar to Windsor Palms or Terra Verde or Emerald Island, in that it has a clubhouse and all of that? Can they use internet at the clubhouse? Do they have some kind of staff that works in the clubhouse that can give directions to local attractions? Does it have a playground? Are all of the condos pretty close to the pool?

Thanks so much in advance!

This is a nice and easy question. Formosa Gardens Estates does not have a clubhouse or any other community facilities. All the homes within the community are single family homes ranging from 4 bed to 8 bedroom homes. As a result there are no condos or townhomes within the community.

Hope this helps

Must be a different community then. This place is listed as Formosa Gardens on vrbo, and is definitely a two bedroom condo. From some of the pictures, it seems to have some kind of cluhouse/pool area. Just wasn't sure what they offer at the clubhouse and if they have a playground.

Is it possible that there is a Formosa Gardens and a Formosa Gardens Estates?

There is only one community called Formosa Gardens, but the area is called Formosa Gardens and this includes Emerald Island and Windsor Hills.

Which VRBO number is it?

193887

The more I look at the Formosa Gardens subdivision, the more it looks like it's not in that subdivision. It's also the only condo listed. Wonder if it's a misrepresentation?

If it's this condo that's in the Formosa Gardens listings, it looks like it might be in the Sun Lake Resort beside Formosa Gardens Village.

The shape of the pool in the pictures looks like the one for Sun Lake on the aerial view on the following map. Go to marker 117 and look behind the MarketPlace. You'll see the pool and tennis courts with the side of the store in the background. Sun Lake is very new. And you would be able to walk to the restaurants in that area.

Mango Key (on Papaya Dr ) is across from Grand Palms on the map. GP is #184

As Wanda has said it looks like Sun Lake Resort which is in the Formosa Gardens area. It would be an easy walk from there to the 192 and the shops within Formosa Gardens village.

Thanks, I would put more but it won't let me put them on the first page. It goes to the next page and only has the 2nd page markers on it. One of these days I'm going to put the subdivisions on one page and the eateries and attractions on another. When I have the time. :)
