I just found out how much money my husband spent on pins in WDW. It was as much as I spent on Hotel rooms for 11 days!!! I am livid, but he and my oldest daughter are hooked. So the point of this rant is does anyone have any idea where to get cheaper pins? Disney outlets maybe? Sales at Disney stores? Any and all ideas would be extremely helpful.

I remember the Character Outlets in Orlando had some of the semi older pins for $3.99 each

Thank you guys so much. are all these pins tradable at the parks? including the cheappins.com ones?

Currently, as long as the pins read Disney (c) on the back, they are tradeable. But their terms are always subject to change with little notice.
I have bought from cheappins, DS. And even Ebay has deals, if you luck out and watch closely. I have bought nice traders/keepers for a buck a piece. But that of course is not the norm.
Like your DH, I am ashamed to admit what exactly I spend on pins each trip. I don't add up the cost. I don't want to know.:p
The best part is trading! I buy extras while I am in the park to cover me for my non-park months.
Plus as you trade, you meet a lot of great people world wide. Most of us help each other out and we are close community. But newbies are always welcomed!
:)
Be sure to check out the www.dizpins.com board. And make sure DH gets set up on Pinpics, if he isn't already.
If you have a DS nearby, they probably have in their back room pins for $2 (sale $). Watch for them to come back to the floor in January.

I just ordered some pins from cheappins.com. I also went to check out that dizpins site. it's awsome. I'll have to get my DH on it. Thank you all. We are planning to go to wdw in early February and I hope to have some cheaper pins for him (and my daughter) to trade.

Thanks for the info on cheap pins!

We got Tradable pins $1.99 at
Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores
State Road 535
1 mile Walt Disney World Resort

Hmmmmmm,I should take off my favorites pins from my landyard that I'm not willing to trade at DL,right??

We were at TDS last weekend and the manager brought out a box of pins for $2.00 each. She said they were going on sale in January, but because we were going she let us go thru the box.

Definitely watch Ebay. I have gotten a lot of pins for less than $3 including shipping. You just have to be patient. Cheappins.com is good for getting some traders and pinpics.com is good for online trading.

My husband traded an RFC pin with a cast member who informed him that those pins are not really tradeable. He took it after my husband informed him that he had just traded for that pin with another cast member working in the same restaurant. So, it's kinda iffy.
