Any ideas for ski vacation during christmas week 2014?

We have never been before. I have been looking at Whitefish, MT, has anyone been there? Any other affordable ideas? We are a family of 8 and will need a 3 bedroom condo. We are open to any areas! Thanks!

Checkout Keystone CO, very family friendly. Beginner runs top to bottom, Breckenridge is nearby. Have fun

Are you only looking for the west? If you are considering east - I can recommend several in Vermont. One of my favorites is OKemo.

We live in Denver and have a condo in Keystone. I would look into Keystone, Copper Mountain or Winter Park. Keystone is great for families. They offer free lift tickets for kids (with a paying adult), they have a great tubing area and a snow castle for the kids. If you have more than 4 people in your car you can park in the first couple of rows of the parking lot. We also love Copper Mountain. Great place for beginners. As for lodging, each of resorts has their own central reservations. There is also a property management company that competes with the resorts called Skyrun. Their website is skyrun.com. Check into Snowshoe in West Virginia. Good resort.

North Conway, NH is a GREAT place to visit. It has awesome skiing, with Cranmore and Attitash Resorts 20 mins from each other and Wildcat Mountain and Bretton Woods another 20-30 away. There is a charming Main st with old fashioned general stores and 100s of outlet shops. There are covered bridges and ice skating. There are many hotels and even more houses to rent.

We have family in Whitefish. I can recommend places to eat and things to do. I will warn you, it's definately not going to be budget. Very expensive especially during a holiday week. Beautiful place. You can fly into Missoula or even kalispell.
