Any ideas for gifting an AP?

It my girlfriends birthday coming up pretty soon and all she's been talking about is getting an AP since we go pretty often. She's paid out of pocket every single time we go (I'm an AP holder) so I thought this would be a great gift. I'm planning on getting her one this year, but I'm not really sure how I'd gift it.

Anybody have any ideas as to how I could gift her an AP? Has anyone here done the same?

I saw the gift voucher option online when purchasing the AP. Is it just a paper print out?

Thanks in advance :)

When you purchase an AP on Disneyland's website, they'll send you an email with an eTicket attached that you can print and bring to the ticket window to redeem for the plastic AP card. The eTicket is quite elaborate so you could totally print it out on some nice glossy paper (8.5" x 11") and present it in a gift envelope.

Depending upon how much she enjoys surprises, you could attach the envelope containing the voucher to a helium balloon (they usually have cute Disney mylar balloons at the dollar tree) and put the balloon in a box that you wrap. Then when she opens it, the ballon and gift will float out of the box.

From what I read, there is a cool perk for those who purchase in-person... if you purchase/renew an AP (even on a blockout date,)you will be allowed entry for that day. Assuming this is true, it might be cool to buy this in-person with her there. You could surprise her and tell her to NOT buy the AP because there's a special deal.. then just buy it for her on the spot. You could give her something else to appear as though that was the gift... perhaps a gift certificate to some restaurant you plan to eat at, the confirmation/itinerary for a hotel you've booked.. If she plans to buy the AP right now, you can tell her to wait because you "have a friend that told you about a deal in-person"... something like that to stall her... when you show up at the gates, you get her the AP + entry on that date by making the purchase there.

I'm full of ideas, so if you want me to stop, just say so.... :-)

You could get her a Disney wallet or purse and put the card/voucher inside.

Does she still listen to CDs? You could make her a "mixed tape" of her favorite Disney songs and put the card/voucher inside the case.

Or purchase her favorite Disney movie and slip the card inside of it (if you can do this without it being noticeable.

Or, Charlie and the Chocolate Factoryesque, put the "Golden AP" inside of a Hershey bar (or other similarly wrapped candy bar).

A necklace or bracelet with the card attached by a string, but tucked under the cardboard display thing in the box, so she wouldn't see it upon opening the gift, but would discover it when she takes it out to put it on.

You actually don't have to purchase the AP in-person to get this perk. I purchased my Deluxe AP online last year. I was blocked out on the Saturday I activated it at the park and was given a pass to enter the park that day. It is available to anyone, but I heard that you have to ask for the block out day pass. I didn't ask for it though, it was just given to me much to my surprise! I've also heard that you get the pass when you RENEW your pass in-person on a block out day.

OP, I like the idea of giving her the plastic AP card either in a cute Disney wallet, attached to a balloon, or even tied to a bouquet of flowers. What a sweet thing to do for her!!

Just want to say this is an awesome idea. follow some of the suggestions. Or if you live nearby since you go often buy a disneyland ballon those mickey ones and attach the pass to it. Put it in a box and when she opens the box it will float up. Or any other disney balloon will work.

Since I know @JKalai is paying for the AP in full, I take back my earlier comment and also recommend buying her the plastic AP voucher from the Disney Store. I had totally forgotten about that! It's a much nicer presentation -- especially with the Diamond Celebration design. Your local Disney Store may or may not have it on display along with the rest of the multi-day tickets, but I've asked and they do sell vouchers for APs -- you just have to ask and they can bring it out if they have it in stock. She can then exchange the voucher for an AP at the ticket window in the park. All the other suggestions re presentation sound awesome. Good luck!
