Any ideas for Birthday Celebration?

Hi! My family will be spending several days at the Portofino for my son's 12th birthday in October. Does anyone know if there is anything I can request at the hotel for a special surprise for my son, such as a surprise waiting in the room, or something special at dinner at Mama Della's?

I celebrated my 50th at Mama Della's and it was fabulous - we had a group of 16 and they really went out of their way for us! I think DH ordered a special cake because it was just beautiful- with scenes done on white chocolate on the top. Aside from a delicious meal, awesome service and great seating arrangements they didn't really do anything "birthday" special besides singing HB - but don't know what else they could have done! The strolling musicians sang me a song (something in Italian about loving your mama )- I loved it!

HRH left me a cool birthday card in the room and the CSR at check in handed me a cute chocolate CD and wished me a HB. I would call the hotel - they may have some ideas ! Have a wonderful trip- hope you enjoy your meal at Mama's as much as we did!

I took my son to PBH for both his 15th and 16th. I let them know of the birthday and didn't even get a happy birthday from any staff member. They did ask when I made ressie at Trattoria del Porto but all he received was a "happy birthday". I think you can call or email them to set something up for a charge.

Thanks for the welcome and the replies! I'm not looking for them to do anything for free, but just something that I can set up in advance to make my son's day special. I'll take your advice and call or e-mail them.

I recently inquired about b days. I emailed the ressie dept. He said he noted them on the ressie and also gave me this info:

"If you are looking for anything in the parks, you can call
407-224-bday. These are birthday parties in the park which include cookouts,
cakes, and character visits"
