Hi so I want to say in the year 2010 with my family I got some cute tinker bell pins that I'm now considering selling. They are cute, but I have no interest in pins really and I want it to go to someone who would appreciate Disney pins. One is the 17617 - Princess Heart Series - tinker bell Hinged Locket. Another is a glow tinker bell pin that I haven't found the name of. It stills works, but has some paint wear on the face and certain parts. I'm most confused about this one because I saw one new in the box sell for $300 so I don't know if its rare or not. I don't want to overprice, but I also don't want underprice. What would you say is an appropriate price range for them?
I had a look online for the 17617 - Princess Heart Series - tinker bell Hinged Locket.
I found it here

I also found it here, but it has a different number

"Released April 22nd 2003 for Tinker Bell Tuesday. Hinged Heart Locket. This has a "matte" finish so it will not scratch as easily as the "mirror" finished pins. There are four "jewels" on the front of the pin "
The original new in shop price was $8.95 and it is currently listed on Ebay for $12.90
The Tinkerbell light up broach with marks is worthless, donate it to a thrift shop. No one is going to buy something in bad condition which is only a piece of merchandise and not an actual proper trading pin.
The general release pins like the Tinker Bell Hinged Locket do not retain or increase in value. With the huge influx of scrappers and fakes, buying collector pins online has really dropped. It would have to be something really rare, or exclusive factory sealed and unopened and unused, those are the items which sell.
Years ago, people bought Disney pins thinking they would increase in value and be an investment. But like Beanie Babies, it was a false investment. I collect pins with a theme, for sentimental value, places I have been. My pins are mementos of my travels, like how people collect postcards and magnets from tourist places.
