Any I-Touch sales starting today???

Does anyone know of any sales on the I-Touch this week? My daughter wants to use her birthday money to purchase one of these for herself. Another question, is there any way to shut-off the internet access? I don't know if I like the idea of her having access to it whenever. We are here in the home to monitor what she can use on our computer. Maybe I should insist on an i-pod nano instead. By the way she is 13. What do you think??

If you're not going to use the wi-fi, I wouldn't get the ipod touch. A lot of the apps need a wifi connection to work. You might as well get the nano.

Radioshack has the 8GB Touch for $199 with a $25 gift card

I agree with the PP about getting a different Ipod if you do not want her to have the internet. Simply - it is just much less expensive!

thanks, do you get a gift card w/the "cheaper" nano too?? or just the touch? I want to get DS8 a nano......the touch is just too much $$ for him I think.

ETA: we were thinking of the smaller 8gb nano.....i don't think there are gift cards w/that purchase???

Yes, the 16 GB Nano is $175 and you get a $20 gift card and the 10% off coupon would give you an extra $17.50 off too.

The shuffle is $55 with a $10 gift card if you buy two and the 10% off coupon would give you an extra $5.50 off one or $11.00 off two.

The 32GB iTouch is $295 with a $25 gift card and the 10% off coupon gives you an extra $29.50 off. We were going to get a 16GB iTouch through Apple . com for $199 but with the extra discounts and all it was a good deal so we got the 32 GB instead. The discounts made it $245 in the end.
