We're planning a trip to the west coast this summer. 3 nights in Las Vegas, 4 nights at the Disneyland Hotel and 3 nights at the Hotel Del Coronado. We have 3 teenagers (19, 17, 14). Are there any Las Vegas hotels that allow 5 in a room?

The Rio is the only place I know that officially allows 5 in their normal rooms. A few of the others do have suites that allow 5, but Vegas is kinda weird in this respect. At many resorts, the only option in the fancy suites is one king bed.

Also, note that many of the resorts charge for each person over 2. So even if they allow 5, it would be real expensive. Two rooms is probably going to be your best bet.

Just get the kids their own room. It's Vegas, how much trouble can they get in :)

The Venetain has rooms with 2 queens and a sofa. I can't be positive, but I am pretty sure that it pulls out to a bed. Plus the rooms are very spacious, so 5 wouldn't be all that bad....

Thanks for the replies. Sharon, the problem I'm running into is that all the Las Vegas hotels will only allow you to book 4 to a room. Right now I'm looking at the Platinum Hotel and Spa which is right behind Bally's and brand new. It is all suites from studio to 2 bedrooms and a better price than two rooms on the strip. It looks gorgeous on the website. We did want to be on the strip but economics may win out! We are then going to Disneyland and San Diego so every penny counts.

Deduadrn,

Be a bit careful with the Platinum, especially if you are going by web-site reviews. At least one website out there is plagued with shills for the Platinum. I've never been inside, so it may be wonderful inside. But when I read reviews that talk about the great location and how it's just a block off the strip, I get real suspicious.

It's about a 1/2 mile from the strip, the last bit of which is somewhat dumpy. Non unsafe or anything, just not a particularly nice walk. As long as you know what you are getting into and are prepared for it, it's be a great trip. I'm just a bit worried by your "right behind Bally's" comment. Here a picture:

It's pretty easy to pick out the Bellagio lake on the left of the map. Going from left to right, you can see the "X" shape of the Paris Hotel. The buildings above that are Ballys. Behind them you'll see Bally's pool. Behind the pool you'll see some empty parking lots. Across the street from those parking lots are a collection of buildings - the tall one with the shadow is the Platinum. If you zoom in, you can see some yellow and red color on the side of the building. Note that you can't walk across those parking lots on go in a back door of Bally. However, there is a side door to Bally's located right where the monorail crosses the street. (You should zoom in on that map to see the detail - I just left it zoomed out so you could see the distance.)

Have a great trip wherever you stay,
Zeke

Debbie,

You shouldn't have any issue getting five people into a room at any hotel in Las Vegas.

Get a room with 2 queen beds, ask for a roll-away bed, and you will be good to go. A few hotels will ask you to present a room key (card) to access the elevators, but one is enough for a group together.

There is one hotel (the Hard Rock) that, at times, limits access to its pools to four people per room. However, even at this hotel, you can pay a supplemental fee to get the fifth into the pool area.

Wherever you stay, be sure to ask if a room with 2 beds can accommodate a roll-a-way . . . I used to work at Paris Las Vegas and a roll-a-way bed cannot fit in their rooms with 2 beds.

You can try westgate that is right on the strip.
