Any hotels recommended for 1 night?

We will be in WDW around Thanksgiving weekend, and need 1 night to stay somewhere close to WDW. We wont be going to WDW that night, but dont wont hassle of driving distance for next day transfer to WL. So with a family of four, 2 being teens with needed space, any suggestions for offsite that is spacious, clean and affordable?

I am needing the same info. We are arriving in Orlando on Tuesday 11/23 and check into POR on Wesnesday morning 11/24. I am looking for something around the downtown Disney area. Any help would be so great.

I posted this on another thread, but we've stayed at the Fairfield at the Marriott Village and it's a nice, clean place for a quick visit. It's about a 10 minute drive from DTD (if that...considering traffic). We stayed there two nights before we switched to AKL. You also get a complementary continental breakfast there.

Buena Vista Suites and Comfort Suites Main Gate East are popular places to stay on these boards. Both sleep up to 6 people and have free breakfast.

We've used hotels.com in the past for 1 - nighters, booking them with very short notice, we've gotten VERY nice rooms for nearly nothing.

Last time (forgot the name of the place), we got a 2-bedroom suite at a hotel just outside of property for well under 100 a night (including taxes, etc). We booked it online 1 day in advance, since flew in early to avoid a snow storm.

We just stayed at the Fairfield last week for 1 night at the end of our trip for $53 a nite AAA rate. The room was spacious with 2 beds plus we had them bring a rollaway for DD11. There is a mini-fridge in the room and real cable channels (unlike the limited channels on Disney property). They also have FREE wireless internet and a FREE breakfast buffet.

We love this hotel and the others in the Marriott Village and used to stay here a good bit before we bought into DVC. The hotel is new, clean, secure and has interior corridors. I booked our room directly on the Marriott.com site with a 6pm cancellation policy which was nice because we weren't sure if we were going to stay in Orlando that nite or head part of the way home.

OP - I have the same question. We are flying in on 1/7, get in around 10:30 pm and need a place to crash until we wake up early in the morning to check in at WL for a few nights. If you do end up booking somewhere and have a review, let us know. I'll be subscribing to this thread and taking notes!

I always travel in like this...one waste of a night before the vacation can start and I always just use hotwire.

The unknown aspect may throw some but I use hotwire all the time and am very rarely disappointed. It is just a bed for that one night we are usually there 12 hours max and it seems like a waste of money to pay for resort amenities we don't even see.

Okay, I'm dying to know--did you actually request a larger room/suite? Did you have more than 4 people? I'm curious because we're a family of 6, and the hotel-type websites always choke on our party size. Now, if we're only staying for 1 night, it wouldn't be a huge deal to get 2 cheap rooms, but I'd really rather get a 2BR suite where we could all be there and maybe have a kitchenette available. TIA

We found a great rate of $35.00/nt at the Hampton Inn Florida Mall for our first night in November. I'm not sure if it's still available, but I found it at Travelzoo.com.

The easiest option is to book a room at one of the value resorts, then you're onsite, can leave your vehicle there in the morning and hop a bus to parks or go ahead and check out and check in at WL, then go to parks from there. LEave luggage in vehicle or check with bell services. When you're room is ready, you can just go on back to the resort. We did that one time, checked in at AS Sports, checked out early the next morning and went on over to YC, our room was actually already ready for us and this was on Jan 2. We've also spent one night at the Doubletree Castle on I drive, but I think the value was cleaner!
