Any hope for BLT waitlist?

Even though I'm a long-time member, I'm a waitlist newbie. I have a waitlist for a BLT 1BR Standard View for Dec 3-9, which I made on the first day of the 7-month window. Is there any hope for it to happen? I have it set up to wait until all days are available, and to expire 31 days in advance.

I'm booked at OKW Nov. 29 - Dec. 9, so I won't lose out if it doesn't come through, but it would be nice!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

A WL for 6 days, that week, anywhere is rough. I don't like your chances. All days have to match to get it.

All dates in a 1 bedroom standard view have to match it and you need to be first in line.

Also, Standard is very quick to go at BLT due to the lower point costs. I hate to be a downer, but your chances are super slim in this case.

There are less standard view rooms than the other two view categories at BLT. I think standard represents around 10 or 11% of the rooms. Lake view has the most number of rooms. Then when you add that you are trying for six days in the most popular two weeks at a DVC resort, you chances are slim to none. I would consider adding a second WL for a lake view 1BR.

I would have tried a 1 day at a time waitlist. At this point, I would not be hopeful for getting what you want at once,

Thanks for all your suggestions! I didn't realize there were relatively few standard rooms, so I definitely didn't help myself on that one. At this point I think I'll just leave it as is, and treat it as a learning experience for next time. Chances are I'll go again next December, so I can do a Lake View one-day-at-a-time waitlist and hopefully have better luck.

Do you think a waitlist would work for the end of May, around Memorial Day weekend? That will be our 25th anniversary of becoming members. Syl and I had planned to relive our first stay, but OKW might be a downer for me without her.

Unless you have a banking deadline that you can't waitlist further than the 31 days I'd change it to 7. I'd believe the BLT room will require more points than the OKW so you wouldn't be worrying about holding points if it filled at less than 31 days.

I do agree that the likelyhood of it filling is small you still never know.

As for late May, I expect you'll have a few resort options available and likely won't even have to waitlist. But if you have to I'd give it a try.

Thanks, Kathy and Denise. I've changed the Standard View waitlist to 7 days, and have added a Lake View waitlist. I'll keep my eye on availability for late May.

My parents had a WL come through at BLT, although it was for 4 nights in a Lake View 2BR during the same time period. Just got notified two weeks ago. Good luck!

That's encouraging! I've checked BLT for early May 2017, and there's still plenty of availability, so it looks like I won't need to waitlist late May. We'll see...

I was able to make reservations for a Polynesian Villas Studio May 16-19, and a BLT Theme Park View 1BR for May 19-25. No waitlist! . The Poly was our first on-property stay in 1989, and we had been wishing for a Poly Villas for years. I'll be at BLT for our 25th DVC anniversary on May 22.

Nothing on the December BLT waitlist, but now that I'm in at BLT next May, I'm not as concerned. Of course, that means it'll come though after all

Next year do the waitlist but try to snag the reservation yourself. You may need to do this capturing one day at a time but it works much better in my opinion!! I have done it several times! I have an upcoming reservation for BLT over T-day week that I put together several days at a time when I could snag them and have a whole week there. Coincidently my waitlist is still active for the week and not filled...

I got a studio lake view for the first week of december 3 years ago. It came through sometime in October.
