DH and I were throwing around the idea of a short vacation (we live in CT) so maybe 4 days? And looking at different things

we have a 10 month old

we would be looking at April or May I think maybe late March

From reading about it I can't find much and it sounds sort of boring, but some places are like that and you get there and have lots of fun

Any experience with going with with infants?

Or would it be not great weather is Spring?

love to hear any details that could help us decide if this is for us or not

As far as the weather goes HH can be very nice in May with highs in the 80's and lows in the 60's. I think May is a good choice. I went to HH in late May of 2005 and the weather was perfect.

April can also be nice with daytime highs in the 70's and lows around the upper 50's. Late March you can plan on average highs in the 60's and lows around the upper 40's.

There is a ton of stuff to do...along with great restaurants, golf and shopping. Be sure to go over to Sea Pines.

If I remember correctly there was a small kiddie area near the pool. But my kids are a lot older so I don't remember some of other things for toddlers. If you get a one bedroom, let the 10-month old sleep in the living room and you & your husband can have time to yourself.

hi, I live here. Its very nice and there is a ton of things to do, though it might be tough with a baby. Its very outdoorsy- kyaking, biking, golf. Of course you can always do th ebeach thing.
Remember we have a HUGE PGA GOLF TOURNAMENT here in April. So if you don't want to go to that dont com ein April. The traffic is horrible and people are either at the tournament or our partying, (just for that week anyway) Its called the Heritage Classic.

We love HHI resort. so much so that we had to added on there in 2002(we are OKW members since 1994). The resort is very relaxing, beach and beach house with pool, etc is great..May is good time..April we did go to beach but did not swim in the ocean..only in heated pool. resort has play areas for kids, you can rent bikes with kid seats. You can rent dvd's from the store. Its fun to sit on your patio and watch the dolphins at the entrance to Shelter Cove. Lot's of kid freindly restaurants on the island and some within walking distance at Shelter Cove. It is not the craziness of WDW or of some of the other beach resort areas like Myrtle Beach..that's why we love it.

If DH and I were alone I could easily find lots of things to do- the key is that we will have the baby

but air travel may put a stop to the whole trip. Airfare is really expensive- $404 pr person and thats with a layover! 3hrs and 35min is the shortest I can find.

So we might, as much as I wanted to go, the idea was a nice peaceful, short vacation, assuming it would be an easy flight for our baby (we have decided sometime in May)
I asked my Father about HH (we went there as little kids) and now he wants to know if I can get a 2BR instead so he and my Mother can come too, but then he heard it wasn't on the water and sounded iffy- okeydokey.
but $800 for 2 airplane tickets is steep!
