I need some help fom you guys.

I am putting together a kind of tip folder for members of our family who are coming out with us for our wedding next week, none of them have been before so i'm just looking for some helpfull hints. For some reason I can't seem to think of any.
I don't really want stuff about the parks more of the things that would be helpful like-
You can turn right on a red light etc. that sort of stuff.

Anyone got any??

Thanks

Sam

Tell them about the lever on the petrol pumps - it nearly caught me out on our first trip.

No 'nearly' in it for me!

Also remind everyone to carry ID if they want alcohol

Am assuming you are giving them park info already? Opening time's, parking fee amounts, parade times etc

:sunny:

not sure if they've been to the U.S before, but if not - tipping info is a must!

Oh, and hello :wave2: Verity - live not far from you in Kirkby-in-Ashfield!

Remind them to order 'fries' not 'chips' or they'll be inundated with crisps! also remind them about portion sizes being huge, they may not want 3 course meals

How about how to release the parking break on the rental car - that had us the first time.

And that they must put their lights on with their wipers in the rain (I WISH drivers over here would do that!)

Oh and a little reminder that they have to drive on the wrong side of the road!

And about the road signs too - that they hang above the crossings (and the traffic lights for that matter) and are meant for the road running to the left/right - not the one you're driving on.

Oh and my favourite... the one thing that makes me know I'm in Florida... that the toilets flush themselves so don't be shocked when they do!

BTW - are you getting married at WDW?

I thought that you were supposed to do that over here too... I have always done it - it's common sense... :confused3

I am sure many of the hire cars have the lights on auto so by the time it rains it will be dark enough for lights. Last year our Chevy lights came on sometimes when it was overcast.

On the reference to turning right on a red, state unless it states otherwise. Although not that that stops anyone on the East Bound I4 off ramp to the sandlake where it says this and everyone goes through anyway :confused3

I think over there it's the law - where over here it's best practice... but trust me I've driven down many a motorway in torrential rain with people with no lights on

I always switch mine on BTW :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone, it's always the same when you are trying to think of something and you draw a blank. Especially when you've been quite a few
times and these things seem like second nature!

BTW - are you getting married at WDW?

We certinally are, there are 30 family members coming with us so it should be a good tim, none of them have been before so i'm sure they are going to love it. It's most def going to be a wedding to remember.

True... still driving along with your hand holding your mobile phone to your ear whilst driving is illegal over here... how many people do you see do it? Certainly quite a few each and every day?

There are just lots of bad/ignorant drivers out there...
