I have lived in the Hamilton Area all my life. Born in Hamilton 40 years ago lived there for 7 years, then Burlington, then Ancaster, then Waterdown, then Kilbride, Burlington again and now we live in Aldershot which is the part of Burlington that borders Hamilton.
It is a great area to live in, my in-laws live in Hamilton in Real Estate area 12 which is near Locke Street. They are retiring and moving to Burlington to live with their daughter and they are really sad to leave the area. They love it and can walk to so many things including the Go Station, shopping, hiking, the library, farmer's market and are only a couple minutes from the highway to go to Buffalo or Toronto.
There are a lot of parks to go to in this area and the Royal Botanical Gardens is a great place to visit. The Waterfront is getting revitalised and there are two great parks right on the water. Sailing on the bay is something we really enjoy. I wouldn't swim in the bay though.
Other great areas to live are 11 which is the west end of Hamilton and some of 10 the North End just the parts that are right near the bay. The mountain area where all the Diser's above seem to be from and some of Stoney Creek. Dundas is beautiful but it is an extra 15 minutes from the highway and Commuter Transit. Aldershot in Burlington is a great place to live but higher priced than Hamilton.
