I bet I have you alll beat. I watched this show in the fifties when it was only 15 minutes long. Anyone else remember Papa Bauer? Just reading this thread has brought back memories. The whole Roger/Holly story. Oh gosh, and when they brought Bert's husband Bill back from the dead after so many years. Those were the days. And the evil hateful villains. Was there ever a worse one that Roger Thorpe?

Interestingly enough, I have not seen the show since about 1990, and yet I recognize most of the characters you are talking about. I think that is one of the things that make it a great show...the continuity.

I have the opposite feeling! He is so good at being bad that I just want to throttle him myself! I think he is creepy! Ifelt the same about Roger at first and then I fell in love so we will see how I feel in a year or two!

My mom could have beat you, but she is deceased, so you still win among the living. In 1953 my mom had Rheumatic Fever and my grandmother worked as a teacher so she had a tutor come out to teach her for an hour every day for the three months she was out of school. She came at a certain time, right at the start of the Guiding Light radio show. She convinced the tutor to come 15 minutes later so she could listen. My grandmother cought wind of it and insisted she come at the beginning, so my mom got the tutor hooked!
