I know it's a little early, but I've started thinking ahead for our trip this fall. DH and I will be taking our DS, age 7 and DS, age 3 ( his first trip) and also SIL, BIL and their DS, age 6 (his first trip). I thought it would be great to get together a gift bag for them to add to the magic. I was thinking maybe an autograph book ,pen, matching personalized t shirts, GOH badges (if we can find them) Any other ideas?? And the big question when should I give them to them, before we leave?? after we get there?? I thought it would be nice to have them waiting in the rooms for them, but I don't know how we could do that. Any suggestions???? :Pinkbounc

We have always put a belly bag together for them by letting them pick something out of bag each day and adding it to the belly bag. This has been our way of counting down the week before. In the past we have included, the belly bag, flash light, autograph book and two pens, they have these little radios at the Disney store we did last year, sunglasses, little things of bubbles, trading pins, hats, t-shirts etc. I keep an eye out for sales at the Disney store and pick up things then. We are going back this winter and they still have their bags from last year with the flashlights and all thier trading pins. I will do something but will recyle what I can.

Good Luck

We are driving so I'm thinking about giving them the bags and allowing them to open something every state, or something like that. I'm going to throw in some light sticks, candy, autograph books, pens, etc. We aren't leaving till Thanksgiving night. I'm so excited!!!

PS Walmart has really cute Disney gift bags and they are fairly inexpensive!!

I'm doing the same thing. We are going in May and I"m making gift bags for my DS4, nephew 2 and cousin 8, all boys too. I've been pickign up things from the dollar tree. So far I got them each a goofy coloring book that has all the disney characters, disney pencils, disney notepads, small notebooks that I will decorate with disney stickers adn sheets of disney stickers from Michaels. I got plain bags from michaels and will decorate with their name and disney stickers. I am making them each a shirt to go in the bag as well. Also I want to get them disney pez dispensers and just whatever else I find cheap or at the dollar tree. I think I'll give them to them when we get there. Maybe I'll leave them on their beds when we go out for dinner the first night and they'll find them when we get back? Last year we went for DS's birthday and I had hima big gift basket in the room from mickey. I jsut had DH walk him around and show him the poola nd all while I got it ready.

Oh and definately put in autograph books. I forgot to say that I also got light sticks adn glow glasses and also silly string. I figure the light sticks (bracelets and neckaces) and the glasses would be fun at the parades and parks at night adn the silly string would be fun in the room. I'm skipping autograph books this year because they've all done it before and I figure if they want them, we'll jsut pick them up in the parks.

Glow in the dark necklaces, bracelets etc... That stuff costs a fortune at WDW but cheap at Target. I buy enough for my kids to have each night there. Also, have read some people give their kids glow sticks for the rides that go in the dark, in case they are scared.

Last year I went to the DIsney store right before and right after the 4th of July and got tons of small disney items (fans, radios, bubbles, lollipops etc) for next to nothing. I also got DIsney beach towels really cheap. I went to the dollar store and was able to get Mickey lollipops and glow in the dark necklaces. Also Walmart I got Princess crayons and markers. I just keep my eye out all year long because I do the "tinkerbelle" gifts each night. This year we'll be WDW for 14 nights so I have my work cut out!

It is GREAT that you are thinking ahead to your fall trip. You'll be able to get all sorts of neat goodies for the gift bags between now and then. We went to Disney in May 2004 and I've been collecting new things for DS9 and DD4 for our May 2005 trip ever since! You'll be surprised at all the cute things that you can find at the Dollar Tree, Big Lots, Walmart, etc. Here are some suggestions...

Disney Character toothbrushes to use on the trip
Disney kid's toothpaste--I've seen Buzz and DP
Disney Princess or other characters Chap Stick--I found this at Walmart
Disney Character sunglasses--our Walmart just got in a huge display
Disney Character Light Chasers--Disney Store or eBay
Disney nightlights for hotel room--someone on DisBoards posted that they found these at Dollar Tree
Disney Gummies--Nemo, Lion King, Mikckey or Disney Princess are available
T-shirts--I find these on sale CHEAP at the Disney Store throughout the year
Disney Coloring or Activity books--Try Dollar Tree
Mickey Lollipops
Disney character 24 piece puzzles
Pin Trading Lanyard
Pins for Trading
A traditional Mr. Potato Head---Bring one of these from home and then accessorize with all the neat Disney parts at Once Upon a Time Toy Store in DTD. You don't have to get Mr. Potato head there so you'll have plenty of room for all the neat parts in the Fill Your Own Box.
Disney Stickers and a Sticker album--I use coupons and get things like this at Michael's Craft Store
Disney (Mickey or DP) Playing Cards--I found these at Target
Disney socks
Disney themed hats---HATS ARE A MUST--IMHO
Disney themed watches

That's it for now. Maybe more ideas later. HAVE FUN!!

:earseek: Wow, Princess Glenda, that is quite an extensive list. You have some really great ideas. I like the idea of the toothbrush, since that is something that they can really use. Also, the hats, glowsticks, suckers... it will be great that they would already have these things. Maybe it would save me a few dollars. All of this stuff is so overpriced at WDW. :Pinkbounc :jumping3: :Pinkbounc :jumping3: THANKS for all the ideas!!!

Love all the suggestions. I've done many of the same things myself on previous trips. My only word of caution...don't overbuy! I tend to get so excited that I buy too much! (if there is such a thing) I would definitely make sure the kids got all the loot either along the way or on the first day in the rooms. I once tried to have something for every day, and what I found is that there is SO much excitement and magic going on in the parks, etc. that the "goods" I had were kind of uneventful. So, let them get their "stuff" early so it's more of an anticipation builder!
Have fun on your trip! :cool1:
