Any good vegetarian recommendations? Sit down, snacks or counter service...

I had the Portobello Mushroom with couscous at the Blue Bayou last week and it was so delicious!

DH and I had the ratatouille at Cafe Orleans recently. It was really good! I would consider it a vegetarian dish. It does have some shaved cheese garnish on the top, depending on how strict of a vegetarian you are that may or may not matter.

Also is there a good veggie burger in the DLR and what brand do they use? Thanks much!

There are surprisingly a good number of vegetarian/vegan dishes at Disneyland. The Village Haus in Fantasyland has a vegan veggie burger that is southwestern flavor (not bad, but not great). Tomorrowland terrace has a roasted veggie sandwich and a veggie burger.

But there are non-burger options that are great too. The vegetarian gumbo bread bowl(if it is open) in New Orleans Square or The vegetarian chili bread bowl at Harbor Galley in DL, or at the place across the tortilla factory in DCA are delicious and really filling. Another good option is the Mexican food (that you can choose veggies instead of meat) at either Rancho del Zocalo in DL or the Cucina Cucomonga at DCA. Also, they just opened the Lucky Fortune Cookery that has various stir-fries with tofu, and I thought that was tasty too.

HOLD UP! Whaaaaat? They reopened the Lucky Fortune? I wonder if any of the menu sites have the menu uploaded yet?

So, it was tasty? Expensive?? More details please! :flower3:

The location is where Cucina Cucamonga used to be. If you go to allears you can find the menu. But the menu is pretty simple, it's all stir fries (veggies + protein) served over rice. You choose from one of four types of sauces (coconut curry, teriyaki, spicy korean, orange) and choose one protein (chicken, beef, tofu).

It was about $9, so a little pricey, but it was good, and a welcome change from sandwiches or pasta. The edamame was the star of the meal though. Really salty, but that's why I liked them. They were addictive.

You didn't know? There have been some mixed reviews on mouseplanet, but we tried the Thai curry and the "Korean" sauce (ha! not so much Korean...hot, but not Korean hot) with tofu, and the Thai was really good. The Korean sauce was good, once you got the "this is not Korean spice" out of your head. :)

OP, the veggie burgers that I have personally found, since June, have been possibly a gardenburger brand that are serious *vegetable* burgers. I mean, you can see the broccoli and carrot bits in it. Hubby and I found them to be scrumptious, but just in case you're traveling with a picky veggie kid...be warned, they might not want to eat it (even if the kid likes broccoli!).

Before we've gotten a spicy black bean burger, but that was a few years ago now.

The refried beans at Cocina Cucamonga and Rancho del Zocalo are vegetarian (which also helps some religions with dietary rules as well, by leaving out the pesky animal fats), and the Mexican rice is too, according to Chef Chris, with whom I had a long talk about a year ago. :)

We adore the penne with marinara at Plaza Inn. Share a platter of that and a side salad, yummo! Pizzeta salad at Wine Country Trattoria can be made without the meat, and there's a veggie lasagna, something else that can be made veggie, and something further that is without meat.

The "fancy" hot dog place on the way to Tower of Terror has a Portobella Philly "dog" that intrigues me, but the lines there are always SO long that I haven't yet braved it.

The make your own cheese pizza on the kid's menu at PCH Grill is quite good. The veggie burger and the quesadilla appetizer (leaving out the chicken) are VERY good, and Disney seems to make their own salsa and guacamole and they are ridiculously delicious.

White Water Snacks can make their breakfast burrito without the meat (though if you're taking an order to go, check it before you leave!) and it's good. If you're going when strawberries are in season, get ready for the best strawberries in the universe...getting them in the Fall, meh, not so great, but closer to when they are naturally growing...mmmmm.

I've read that they will make things to your specifications at Napa Rose and Napa Rose Lounge. Steakhouse 55, despite the name, has quite a few sides, and a portobello appetizer that all sound so good (but one of our all time BEST meals was at a huge steakhouse near Roseville, so we might be biased towards the kind servers and good side orders at places like that) but we haven't gone there yet...I'm too concerned about our son's reaction to everyone else in the place eating steak (he's a vegetarian from birth).

That's probably enough for now! :)

They also have yummy Edamame for $3 at Lucky Fortune Cookery!

And veggie skewers at Bengal Barbeque :)

Yup, Lucky Fortune is reopened, and man it's gooooood!!!!! There are 4 sauces to chose, 3 types of meat (counting tofu), they serve it with veggies and rice. It's a nice large Chinese takeout box for $9.50. DD13 and I both had teriyaki beef (YUM), DD9 had mandarin orange chicken, DBF had Thai curry beef. We also had edamame and it was really good edamame! We will definitely eat there again. :)
Meat choices are
Chicken, Beef & Tofu
Sauce choices are
Korean Spicy, Mandarin Orange, Teriyaki, Thai Coconut Curry
The veggies were broccoli, peas, carrots, celery and a few onions all mixed together and served over the rice.
