It seems all the good places are in Epcot and I'd like to get to some other parks!

Best Table service in MK is at the Crystal Palace - food far superior than Chef Mickey's and many other chatacter buffets.

That said, there are so many EPCOT restaurants that are better than Crystal Palace!

NO MK is my fav park and honestly to me there is no good sit down table meal at MK. The best ones for us are at the resorts. Le Cellier, Shula's Flying Fish are great but of course only one is in Epcot. Mk has some good/average food but it's just quick get out of the heat and off the feet food.:3dglasses

Depends on what you are interested in. We have 2 young kids. Getting into MK before the park opens is priceless. We love Crystal Palace. It is the only must-eat restaurant we have every time. Also, the Castle is great for the atmosphere and characters.

And I know it gets a bad rap, but we even like Tony's Town Square. With young kids, we just love the Magic Kingdom, so we may be biased. Good Luck!

We went to Tony's for the first time last summer. We went in with absolutely zero expectations (the one thing I hadn't researched before we went :rotfl:). We were pleasantly surprised. But from the looks of some of the entrees, it probably depends on what you order. We had a couple of salads and split a thin pizza (pizzeta?). It was really good. Not great, but good enough. And cool. It was August. ;)

Crystal Palace and CRT.

Cinderella's Royal Table is such a magical experience that everyone should experience. The Crystal Palace has easily become a must-do for us. Of course, the characters are wonderful, but the food is also delicious. Probably one of the best character meals in WDW.

We've had CRT, Crystal Palace, and Liberty Tree Tavern. None were that great. We might have gone back to LTT if it was character. DH didn't like CP at all. And, to us, CRT just isn't worth it if you don't have a DD that wants to see Cindy. We're trying the Plaza on this trip after seeing good reviews. Probably won't do Tony's until its one of the last places left on our list...just aren't big fans of Italian and it gets such mixed reviews.

When we're planning to be in MK in the evening, we head to an MK resort for dinner. Remember, you can take a quick boat ride or the monorail to the Poly ('Ohana, Kona...both YUMMY), the Contempoary (The Wave, Cali Grill), the Grand Floridian (Citricos, GF Cafe), or the Wilderness Lodge (Artist Point, Whispering Canyon)

It doesn't seem to have the best reputation on the DISBoards, but we love Tony's in the MK. Just ate their two weeks ago and it was great!

We really like the Plaza Restaurant. It's small, cozy and quaint and has really good sandwiches. DD10 loves it and we like it better than CRT and the Crystal Palace. Never tried Tony's--never interested.

Another vote for the Plaza. It is a must do for me. It's a hidden gem. And totally budget friendly.

My DH and I finally decided last year that the TS choices at the MK aren't spectacular. If you have the time, there are plenty of nice TS choices around the Monorail resorts.

Depending on your schedule, you could leave the park for awhile and get a great meal. You didn't mention if you had kids with you or not, and that would change my recommendations for restaurants.

Maybe Chef Mickey's (Contemp) or 1900 Park Fare (GF) 'Ohana (Breakfast Poly) with kids. Without or with older - The Wave (Contemp), 'Ohana (dinner Poly), or Citricos or Narcoossee's (GF).

We like the Plaza for lunch or a casual dinner. We have eaten there the last few trips. Trying Tony's this next time though, for something new.

We had a decent lunch at Tony's once :rolleyes1... (Though I highly recommend the Grand Gathering breakfast there if you have a group of 8 or more!!!)

We're going to try the Plaza on our next trip, based on good reviews found here . . . but it's just sandwiches/burgers/ice cream.

There just isn't anyplace at MK that compares to the selections at Epcot and some resort dining . . . but MK does get props for the Dole Whip!!

Unfortunately, I disagree. While I found the food to be decent (on the same level as Chef Mickey's, maybe a little less), our server was atrocious. Many of the people in my party also complained that the building was too cold. The character interaction was on par with Chef Mickey's.

And, to be honest, I haven't been happy with any of the TS restaurants I've tried in MK.

We used to do a lot of sit downs at MK when our kids were young, but now we really don't care for them. Not that the food isn't good it's the whole atmosphere and they seem to rush you out. We like lingering at dinner and really love the Epcot restaurants and ones at the resorts.

THAT BEING SAID, I would say if you have young children the Castle is wonderful, something IMHO you have to do at least once. Crystal Palace was always on our must do list. LLT and Tony's are also good places for people who just don't want to leave the MK. I think it depends on your family's touring style and what you want to do after dinner. We still love The Plaza and always go there is we are planning a day at MK and staying for EMHS.

IMHO you go through different "life cycles" as you are bringing your kids up and what works when they are very young might not work as well when they are older. Also if you have never been to WDW I say a sit down at any of the MK restaurants would be a magical experience.

Enjoy The Magic!!

In my opinion, I think that the Plaza is a nice little place to eat at for lunch and Crystal Palace is really good for breakfast. I would not eat dinner in the MK. Hop on the monorail and eat at one of the monorail resorts for dinner.
