I am trying to decide on which house we will stay at for our extended family trip- grandparents and my family of 5 (2 adults, 2 -12 yo boys and 4 yo daughter). We are getting a Savannah view 2 BR, but just not sure aside from the extra bathroom at Kidani are there any other pro's/con's that i should consider?

Any good website resources which may spell out the differences. I want to have some input from the traveling adults so any info i can present them with would be helpful.

Our trip will be pretty park intensive but might have a little evening time spent at the resort.

Kidani hallways are quite long, so depending on the age/mobility of grand parents that could be an issue (you can request close to lobby or elevator but again that is a request).

However, with 7 people I think the 2 bathrooms in the kidani room is a must especially for getting ready to head to the park in the morning!

the 2 bathrooms in the kidani room
I thought that i had seen that the dedicated 2 BR and maybe the lock off's at kidani had 3 bathrooms where as Jambo has 2 bathrooms. I think we could still manage fine with 2 bathroom. At home we only have 1 bathroom and some how we manage - so 2 would be a bonus!. We are mostly night showerers (if that is even a word :earsgirl:) so we wouldn't be rushing to all shower first thing in the morning.

My family and I prefer Jambo House because the Mara is easily one of the best quick service locations at the Walt Disney World Resort. If dining is a factor, know that Kidani Village does not have a designated quick service location.

Jambo 2BR is a lock-off, a 1 BR and a studio. The 2nd BR will be 1 queen + a sofa bed. You will have a bit less space at Jambo, and 1 less bath. Also you 'could' have a long hallway walk depending on the room location, maybe a bit less that at Kadani. But if you have a car, you park under the room at Kadani, at Jambo it is a remote lot.

Yes, Kidani 2BR's will have 3 bathrooms. Jambo 2Br is made up of a lock-off so a bathroom in the studio section and a bathroom in the 1BR section. The Jambo master bathroom does not have a walk in shower like most DVC - it's a combo jacuzzi tub and shower. The Kidani layout has the walk in shower and the separate whirlpool tub in the master, a full bathroom in the living area and a full bathroom in the 2nd bedroom. This would also be true of a lock-off at Kidani.

TouringPlans has a good overview of the two resorts. https://touringplans.com/walt-disney-world/hotels/disneys-animal-kingdom-villas

IMO the real difference is the QS at Jambo House. Sanaa now serves a QS breakfast that is very good. The lobby at Jambo is much larger and more impressive but is not as welcoming as the one at Kidani. It might be that three quarters of the guests at Jambo House are cash guests whereas the majority at Kidani are DVC members and it has been my experience that DVC members are friendlier. Both have long hallways but Kidani has slightly longer hallways on four floors versus the single floor of rooms at Jambo House. Because Kidani has more floors you can request rooms on a lower floor to get better views of the animals. Sometimes at Jambo House the animals are hidden by the tree tops. There is a much bigger pool at Jambo but Kidani has a better water play area that works for toddlers to tweens and I have seen many an adult playing with the water cannons with their kids.

We always prefer Jambo because of the dining options. Awesome QS (Marra), TS (Boma) and Signature (Jiko) all right there. The pool at Jambo is bigger, I always feel crowded in the Kidani pool. But, the water slide at Kidani is better and there is a splash pad as well. Kidani has a good TS in Sanaa. In the end, we usually take one day trip to Kidani and stay at Jambo.

Yes sorry the two bedrooms have 3 baths...we always book 1 bedrooms so I'm used to the 2 baths!

The main thing as others have already stated, is the extra Bathroom....so that's one thing you'll need to consider. Also, We've stayed @ both Kidani & Jambo, & honestly it's hard for us to make a decision which we liked better.

There's pro's & cons.:
Bus wise..Kidani
gets picked up & dropped off 1st when heading to & from the parks..The opposite when traveling to & from DS
* Although I thought I heard somewhere about possibly 2 separate dedicated buses to MK? :confused3

Food wise: JAMBO: Has 2 TS restaurants there along with the Mara (QS) . If you'd be frequenting that a lot during your trip, then I'd suggest here. This is where you'll have your refill station too. At Kidani it'll be in the gift shop ( off the lobby )
Johari treasures. They both have poolbars/ with small food menus selections.

Pool Wise : Jambo & Kidani
Both have great pools. Jambo's is much larger with tons of lushness, with a small main slide.
Kidani's is more intimate , very well laid out, with a much larger pool slide, and also has a very nice water play area for the kids. ( quite large too ) If you ask me. They both have nice hot tubs as well.

Animals Wise: You'll get to see extensive amount of animals at each, but I find the area around Arusha Rock @ Jambo to be a lot better..

Lobby Wise: Jambo Is GRAND!!! like VGC, & VWL...*( Same architect ) Kidani is way more subtle, nice for sure but of a lesser wow factor.

CM's wise: They're great no matter which you choose...They are some of the best, if not THE BEST out of any property IMHO.So knowledgeable and friendly & willing to discuss and teach/talk about their culture.:thumbsup2

This is just a short view obviously , but You'll have a great time for sure no matter which you choose..Have a great trip!
